Scoggins: Max Brosmer’s gift to the Gophers is how he’s allowed coach P.J. Fleck to evolve

And last year with Athan and a severely banged up RB group, it was a pretty bad hand to play for the offense. I get what you are saying, but Brosmer really gave this coaching staff the ability to spread the ball around.

A forecast of Gophers football’s biggest needs once transfer portal opens

A Walley and a D Jackson replacement would be the top of the list for me.

    Brosmer

Max vs Locke was a mismatch. Max had great protection as well, plus the wideouts made some great catches.

Some delicious facts regarding the big win over Wisconsin

I was wondering while watching if there were Badger fans chucking beer cans at Gopher fans like they did in 2016 when I attended the border battle? Some Wisconsin sports fan devolved into drunken babies sometime after 1993. I remember being in Mad town for New Years Eve (93), closing down Club...

    Umm they have John Mellencamp.

He sounds like an @ss. So glad my college football experience isn't based on enjoying the season if the team is in the top ten. Minnesota will never be like Michigan and OSU again. But they can have good to really good teams and we can enjoy watching/communing with our fellow fans. Maybe I'm the...

Strongly disagree. I was just thinking while walking the pup before the Penn State game that there was a stretch of maybe five years (well into the Jerry Kill era) where the Gophers never scored a td on their first possession of the game. When you have a new DC and a new quarterback, it's going...

    Bowl question

There is some smoke about what may have transpired after the 1986 Liberty Bowl at a Nashville Honkeytonk. Gopher boosters raised holy hell because they wanted polka music, and even though there are always good musicians at bars on Broadway, no one could step up to deliver Polka. Arne Carlson...

Jalen Logan-Redding is coming back for one more season

That is huge. I saw him interviewed on the tele and he came across as really bright and team oriented. Plus he’s really talented.

Post Game Thread: Gophers lose heartbreaker to PSU

Iowa is much closer to Chicago and therefore is much better situated. You might be right about Nebraska though.

We need a fan communications system for stuff like this!! "PJ call a timeout quick!"

Post Game Thread: Gophers lose heartbreaker to PSU

Considering that Minnesota has by far the lowest number of 3, 4, and 5 star recruits within 200 miles of any Big Ten team, I think Fleck has recruited pretty well. Maybe Minnesota fans will open up their pockets a bit more and NIL can help close the gap.

    Run Game

I dunno, I give the game plan today and the execution a high grade as they moved the ball on the ground and in the air against a top 10 defense in the country. The offensive line played much better today.

    Who 👃an Upset on Saturday?

Yeah that goofy looking number 33 is a problem. The Gophers really don’t have a great LB for TE pass coverage. Penn State exploited I believe Lindenberg or Sori-Marin on TE seam routes during the last matchup.

    Who 👃an Upset on Saturday?

The 2016 Gopher team lacked discipline often and really should have won that season opener Vs PSU. Anyone remember this play? https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/17687748/minnesota-golden-gophers-lb-jaylen-waters-ejected-hitting-penn-state-kicker-joey-julius

Michigan just paid $12 million for their new 5* QB, flips him from LSU

I agree but out Brosmer on their team and I bet they have two more wins (Illinois, UW and maybe even IU).

Post Game Thread: Gophers Lose Disappointing Game at Rutgers

One thing that stood out to me was Brosmer stretching the field mostly in the first half and just missing. I think most or all of the passes were in the correct spot and our receivers didn't have much seperation. Unfortunately, no super strong contested catches today for our receiving corp...

Post Game Thread: Gophers Lose Disappointing Game at Rutgers

I am not detecting a lot of saracasm here, Slab, and if you are being sincere I totally agree. I have learned to enjoy each game and to sometimes give credit to the other team. I think I mentioned in another thread that my pet peeve is when a USC or Nebraska fan says, "I cannot believe we lost...
