Dawson Garcia Entering The Transfer Portal

Yup, cutting to the guaranteed money part of the contract is the best way to value it.

    Niko’s Report Card Thus Far!!

Great post! Since it’s portal time I was focusing on the players he’s brought in, and not on the other criteria you mentioned.

Seth Davis says Minnesota is 2nd-worst job in B1G | BMTN Interview

Sprinkle also took over a sub .500 Montana State team and in his 3rd and 4th years won 27 and 25 games. And he maintained Utah State’s excellent record for the one year he was there. He’s proven he can build a team, and winning 78 games in three years is a pretty good sign he can coach...

Seth Davis says Minnesota is 2nd-worst job in B1G | BMTN Interview

Head Coach Danny Sprinkle has brought renewed expectations to UW. In his first year as coach, he brought in some good players and the team improved throughout the year. This year he’s brought in 4 good players including Bryson Tucker from Indiana. The Huskies should be much improved this coming...

2 college basketball teams are out-spending the field in men’s transfer portal, and the numbers are wild

I wasn’t disagreeing, just thought 20% is tanking advantage. This is where the schools and NCAA could help the athletes so they sign fair contracts.

Who would like the Gophers to have an intense rivalry with Notre Dame?

I can absolutely see Notre Dame playing St. Thomas before us.

Who would like the Gophers to have an intense rivalry with Notre Dame?

A long time ago I really wanted to play ND often. Now, not so much. I think a back to back every once in a while would be fun, but I love our real rivalry games and think they’re plenty enough tradition, history and fun.

Reusse: Report cards are now available for all coaches and managers (PJ Fleck: B)

Hey Pat, you’ve had some great articles in your career, and some heed ones recently, but this ain’t one of them. I think you forgot that Fleck approaches each game as a championship, and they celebrate the wins like it. I think a better article would be how long will Fleck continue to crowd...

Why are so many former top-100 recruits hitting the transfer portal so quickly?

Listening to the know-it-all chatter bugs is not a good recipe for success.

3 Potential Landing Spots for Notre Dame Quarterback Steve Angeli (2. Minnesota or Purdue)

I think it’s a two edged sword. While QBs changing schools often, they may not be in a system long enough to master it and show their true potential. However, by changing schools they may be exposed to different systems and show they can adapt and thrive anywhere. Another positive for NFL...

Minnesota quarterback Zach Pyron has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer, @On3sports has learned.

I was born once, had an adventurous and fulfilling life, found a great wife, had kids and a grandchild, plus dogs, cats and an even a bird. Now I’m a bit older, happy and feeling good that it all happened because I posted it on GopherHole!

    Music & NIL

I think there would be a great turnout. Minnesotans live outdoor concerts and there have been some memorable ones starting (for me) with the August 1, 1978 Met Stadium concert with the Eagles, Steve Miller Band and Pablo Cruise. Officially 65,000 were there, but it felt like a lot more. Great...

Gophers partner with Independent Sports & Entertainment (ISE) to explore potential naming rights for Williams Arena.

Athlon Sports thought The Barn was the third best nickname for a college basketball arena: https://athlonsports.com/college-basketball/college-basketballs-top-10-arena-nicknames There are some damn nice barns in Minnesota. There’s no reason Williams can’t be one too.

    Bryce Benhart

You never know. However, I think he would have done better here with the good coaching and a stable environment.

    General Manager Hires

Not a bad gig. Although I doubt he’ll have time to plan much. Just show up with the cred, smile and title, and the money should roll in.
