By the halftime mark of the game, I thought a bowl game might be out of the question..

It matters, of course. But it isn't the only thing that matters. That said, it's always fun as fans to second-guess play calling. "That was such a bad play-call! They should have run a different play!" After all, hindsight is 20-20.

Who is a better QB, The Drake or Athan?

Love The Drake. The Drake is great!

Who is a better QB, The Drake or Athan?

Kaliakmanis is a senior. Lindsay is a redshirt freshman, making his first B1G start. Nothing against Athan, but if you compare him as a redshirt freshman to Lindsay right now, The Drake wins and it ain't close at all. But we can do a comparison at the end of this season, and look at Lindsay's...

Yep. I'm not trying to hurt any feelings, but we all might be happier if we could just let the game play out before we over-react.

Play-calling is separate from execution. You can call a perfect play, but if just one kid out of eleven screws up or gets beat, the play gets blown up. It isn't always about play-calling.

By the halftime mark of the game, I thought a bowl game might be out of the question..

I respect your opinion and your post about being wrong. You (and many others, to be fair) seem to assume that any time a game isn't going well from the first kickoff it means the team is being out-coached. I disagree. These are young athletes, and this Gopher team includes quite a few...

Every game has more than one half. C'mon, man. Let it play out before hitting the panic button.

Fleck: “We were 1-0 in the bye week. We used it perfectly. Whether that’s fundamentals, details, techniques, reflection, self-scouting..."

I have rose colored glasses because I stated that every coach does coach-speak and uses slogans?

Some truly awful takes on this thread. Try to be less knee-jerk, guys.

Fleck: “We were 1-0 in the bye week. We used it perfectly. Whether that’s fundamentals, details, techniques, reflection, self-scouting..."

A piddling few do that. And, as has been pointed many times, those few are gonna complain no matter what he says.

Kaliakmanis leads the nation in passing yards (1150).

I didn't miss it; I just think it's misleading because Kaliakmanis has played more games than many QBs. Yards per game tells the story a little better than total yards. And even that can be misleading; for example, technically Lindsey played in the Northwestern State game, but he played less...

Fleck: “We were 1-0 in the bye week. We used it perfectly. Whether that’s fundamentals, details, techniques, reflection, self-scouting..."

However you choose to consume the coach's quotes — whether it's by reading, listening or watching — I think it's worth considering the possibility of ignoring it if it's going to tire or annoy or trigger you. To me, all coaches sound remarkably similar. They all have slogans, they all use coach...

Kaliakmanis leads the nation in passing yards (1150).

According to the "Know Your Opponent" thread, Kaliakmanis is 15th in yards per game.

Fleck: “We were 1-0 in the bye week. We used it perfectly. Whether that’s fundamentals, details, techniques, reflection, self-scouting..."

You can't? Sure you can. He's pleased with how the team responded to a disappointing loss, and he's happy with the way in which they are preparing for the upcoming game. This really isn't all that controversial, is it?

Fleck: “We were 1-0 in the bye week. We used it perfectly. Whether that’s fundamentals, details, techniques, reflection, self-scouting..."

Exactly. And if Fleck had stated it in that way, they'd be complaining about him speaking in cliches.

Former #Badgers HC Barry Alvarez RIPS Badger “fans”, calls them “spoiled rotten” and more! This is so fun!!!

I've noticed the same thing. Some are simply trolls, obviously. But I have begun to think that there might be a subset of fans who — without realizing it — actually enjoy kvetching and complaining, for it's own sake.
