Same as NFL refs. Lawyers, superintendents, teachers, sales person, etc. Both NFL officials I’ve met worked for public schools. I believe Gene Steratore officiated in the NFL and big ten hoops. Pretty sure he was at The Barn a few days after the Minneapolis Miracle.

They also have other jobs. My work is flexible. I could ref every Saturday no issue. Without using a day of PTO. Not a bad gig.

Biggest thing to me is that those kids formative years have been while gopher football was good. They didn’t watch a bunch of 2 or 3 win teams. Kill into Fleck has been stable and solid or better. Every year.

Petersohn actually 4th in his class per 247. Voss,Johnson and Trout ahead of him. Really deep local class it seems like.
