ESPN Mock Draft: Round 2, Pick 1: John Michael Schmitz, C, Minnesota

Looking back at past drafts can be painful. 2018 we took Mike Hughes. Lamar Jackson and Shaquille Leanord went soon after. 2019 we took Garrett Bradbury. Jeffrey Simmons, Montez Sweat and Deebo Samuel went soon after. Darrisaw and obviously JJ were good picks. Verdict is out on the...

Lou Holtz at Minnesota - 1984-1985

Summer of 1985 Our family was swimming at our neighbors pool when Holtz called and told our neighbor that he should buy season tickets and that he thinks they will have a really good team. He was actually making telemarking calls. After a quick consultation with my dad, they agreed to go in on...

    How about #9 Jackson

Jackson has been tremendous this year. Several huge catches (sideline play at WI/TD today), don't recall many drops. Had games this year of : 6-110 6-51 5-88 5-86 4-73

POST GAME THREAD: Sound off!!! Gophers beat Syracuse!

The only thing I didn't like was the several sequences of having Lindenberg cover the slot WR. Those seemingly endless easy quick outs for 8 yards were maddening. Maybe it was genius though, as it was the same route as the pick 6.

    Damn Athan

I just finished the game. Good to hear Athan was in a boot. I also saw him in a passing shot on the sideline smiling and laughing it up.

    Streveler!

He took over tonight for former second overall pick Zach Wilson, and has looked much better.

All Things 2022 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

You are correct. A look back at the draft isn't kind to the Vikings. A lot of good players at positions of need were available, and it looks like we got very little overall. S Kyle Hamilton C Tyler Lindebaum DT - Jordan Davis CB Kair Elam WR - Christian Watson

NDSU & SDSU still alive in FCS playoffs

I didn't mean that they would equal NDSU's past accomplishments, just that they could become the current perennial top team in the land.

NDSU & SDSU still alive in FCS playoffs

SDSU is going to be around for a while. They've invested a lot into their facilities/program and have a great coach. I can see them usurping NDSU, if they haven't already. Too bad they couldn't have beaten Iowa in that shootout early in the year.

54 people ejected, 16 arrested during Badgers game, UW police say

The most drunk/yet still somehow conscious person I've ever witnessed was a young Wisconsin fan at the Metrodome.........before an 11 a.m. kick. I felt really badly for him. He looked like wrestler Kerry Von Erich when he wrestled Rick Martell completely gorked. If not familiar, look it up on...

Le'Meke Brockington Appreciation Thread!!! WOW what a first career TD!!

It was designed for him. only two in the pattern, max protect. MBS didn't even run a route. Elite coaching.

    Badger OL

It took Joyner getting wrestled down with a MMA rear neck choke hold to finally get that call.

    Badger OL

I saw a lot of hands outside the outside pad outright just grabbing on, as well as a lot of arm bars, hooks, etc.

    Badger OL

I'm getting up there in age, but am I incorrect in my observation that the Badger OL held with impunity all game?

What grade would you give Athan Kaliakmanis in his first Axe game?

I would. It's obvious that Morgan's had two significant concussions this year. You want him to get three? He has his entire life ahead of him.

Athan grew up a lot today

I thought that was one of the better games I've seen from a Gophers QB. They took away what we do, got a lot of pressure on him and he made good decisions and throws time and time again. He had us in the game at half at PSU, saved our ass in Lincoln, had us a rare Mo fumble away from beating...

Poll: How would you grade the Gophers coaching in the loss to Iowa?

Yes! If only we had you at the helm, with knowledge of what they were going to do and what we should do. Tough game between two evenly matched teams. A few key plays broke their way. It happens. Blaming this on in-game coaching is mis-guided, in my opinion.
