Point taken, but I would not limit the strategy to simply Minneapolis based teams. It’s a common strategy for P5 that aren’t functionally slated for the tournament at the beginning of the season. We’ve had terrible non conference schedules for years, but so have a bundle of other fan bases.

If I were an Iowa fan with all those good shooters and offense and lose so many games because of crappy defense, I couldn’t handle it. It’s like an MLB lineup that scores seven runs a game and gives up 11. Great to the hits but infuriating to see high school pitchers in the majors.
