P.J. Fleck gets a new contract extension—pending approval from Board of Regents—keeping him under contract until 2030.

Fleck has said he wanted to do what guys like Alvarez/Fry/Ferentz have done at their schools. Cynical fans just dismissed it and assumed he would be out the door at the first chance he got.

Wow an end of an era on #Gophers campus as Annie’s Parlour closed after more than 50 years! Who has great memories going there while in Dinkytown?

Bummer....used to like going to Annies during my time at the U. Great shakes and the burgers were good as well.

    Fleck's bad losses at MN

Yeah....I really don't get why some feel the need to fixate on stuff like this. Outside of the teams that are in the National title hunt (and sometimes even those teams) every team has games they lose that they shouldn't on paper. Turnovers, fluke plays, weather, poor execution....things...

    Yippee, A New, One-Time Transfer Portal Opening…smh

Cool....another classification of athlete that is apparently exempt from roster limits for the remainder of their eligibility. Would think anyone in this classification that can play will be really valuable and apparently it even applies to some recruits that had offers pulled due to roster...

Big Ten Offensive Line Rankings Entering 2025 (13. Minnesota)

Yep, rankings right now are just complete guesswork sometimes well researched and often not really researched at all. We have questionmarks to be sure (as you correctly pointed out, most teams do). We lost some key guys, we brought in a bunch of transfers and of course there is the development...

    BYU QB Reportedly Transferring

I would assume it is made very clear to players to keep their extra curricular activities private :) Ratzlaff didn't really have a choice in this one as he had to admit the sex happened in his defense of it not being assault.

    Indiana ducking P4 non-conference foes?

Yeah....with 9 conference games I don't really fault teams for ducking good teams in the non-conf portion. To me the ideal setup is 2 creampuffs and one power conference team but can understand 3 creampuffs. The flip side to that though is that the team and fans have no right to complain when...

PFF: Minnesota RB Darius Taylor Since 2023: 🐿️ 89.6 PFF Grade 🐿️ 1 Fumble (342 ATT) 🐿️ 83 Missed Tackles Forced 🐿️ 50 Explosive Runs

Yeah....no doubt in Taylor's ability....he just has to find a way to stay healthy the way he did for the most part last season.

    BYU QB Reportedly Transferring

Yeah, OP kind of buried the lead. Apparently he isn't facing criminal charges for the alleged assault which he claims was consensual but is getting suspended for 7 games for having pre-marital sex.......I get the whole religious school angle but wow that seems way over the top. Gotta think...

Minnesota Golden Gophers in the NFL - 2025

Yeah, NFL teams typically don't have much behind their starter. Scary part for the Vikes of course is that their starter is unproven as well. The QB position in college has become a lot like it is in the NFL where teams have little to no proven depth behind their starter. The one advantage...

Kerry Brown deserves more buzz | BMTN video

He gets a little overshadowed by Perich but I think those two could be something special to watch this year as both have had more time to develop and get strong/faster.

Minnesota Golden Gophers in the NFL - 2025

I can understand the Vikings wanting a little more experience in the QB room given that their starter has never taken an NFL snap. Story does say that Brosmer will probably end up on the practice squad so will still be in the league and maybe have a shot to catch on with someone else eventually.

Scoggins: Mark Coyle could frustrate some Gophers coaches with revenue-sharing plan

Would suck to see baseball go away but it is tough to compete in this climate where you are forced to spend a big chunk of the year practicing indoors in a sport that really needs to be outside. Hopefully the U finds a way to continue to field a program, would be unfortunate to go the way of...

Scoggins: Mark Coyle could frustrate some Gophers coaches with revenue-sharing plan

Haven't read the full story but glad to hear they aren't planning to spread the revenue sharing super thin. I know a lot of us were concerned that the U would feel obligated to share revenue with non-revenue sports.

    Pierce Petersohn to announce tomorrow!!!

Don't know the kid or family but would be shocked to find out the staff was rigid about seeing him as a LB at the next level. They may have been honest in their assessment of him and where they think he would fit best at the college level but there is no way they would say it was a lock because...

Sacramento State is hiring Tim Brewster as senior associate head coach.

It is what they do now in college football to keep on expanding the staff and adding coaches. They make up new job titles.

Sacramento State is hiring Tim Brewster as senior associate head coach.

Well said....just because he failed as a head coach (never should have been hired, wasn't ready at all) doesn't mean he isn't a quality assistant or someone who could earn another shot as a head coach eventually.

    Pierce Petersohn to announce tomorrow!!!

I have a hard time calling these day of calls predictions. To me a prediction has some time associated with it, like days/weeks not hours. But for the recruiting guys it is a great way to up their success percentage by waiting until it feels like nearly a done deal to make their "prediction"...

    Pierce Petersohn to announce tomorrow!!!

Careful assigning the viewpoints of a vocal minority to the fanbase as a whole. I'm sure there was a lot of denial and hope the allegations were not true but as the facts came out I have a tough time believing the majority of their fans were not horrified and disgusted by what happened.
