Shedeur Sanders’ Slide in NFL Draft Cost Him $44 Million

Something to talk about during the down time. The Deion Sanders circus has been something fascinating to watch over the past few years and the Shedeur draft drama was just another layer on that. Has no real impact on the Gophers but makes for good message board fodder.

Yikes: This has to be the most awkward NC HC Bill Belichick interview he's ever done...😳 Something strange is going on with Jordon Hudson.

I do think they will have a quick hook if he struggles to find success early but gotta think he will at least get a few years. More likely scenario though is him just quitting or finding a way back into the NFL.

    2025 Transfer Portal Watch

One big different between this guy and Garcia is that his first year was 2019-2020 which was the year the NCAA tournament was cancelled due to Covid. Dawson's first year playing was the following season. But has been well documented how there never seems to be any true rhyme or reason with...

And we have a new player on our team.... Chance Stephens

In filling up these final spots it is definitely about finding guys that can fit specific roles. If Chance can provide some quality minutes off the bench and drill some 3s he will be well worth the roster spot.

Yikes: This has to be the most awkward NC HC Bill Belichick interview he's ever done...😳 Something strange is going on with Jordon Hudson.

I just can't picture Belichick having the patience for recruiting. I feel confident saying that this situation and the one at Colorado will both end badly for the schools. The only question will be if the short term boost was worth it or not in the long run.

I'm sure this will go over great with the HC......glad we are not involved in a circus like this.

Shedeur Sanders’ Slide in NFL Draft Cost Him $44 Million

Hopefully the moron who brought this suit ends up having to pay any and all court costs involved in getting it thrown out as punishment for wasting people's time with a ridiculous lawsuit.

    Roman Voss

Makes sense and seems like that could be a great role for a guy like Voss. Dynamic athlete with good size/speed. Assuming he can catch the ball consistently you can do a lot with a player like that in today's offenses.

Revisions to roster limits in House vs. NCAA settlement propose ‘grandfathering’ in response to judge’s ultimatum

Good lord.....that won't be confusing at all to track. And I am sure nobody will find a way to exploit it.... Tough to inject any sort of sanity in the system when the rules are constantly changing.

    Roman Voss

Alabama visit is second and on June 13th according to 247 so assuming we are in fact the only 2 schools he is considering it would seem like a decision would come shortly after the Alabama visit. Which would make sense if he wants to have it done before starting his senior season.

    Roman Voss

Anything is possible but this feels a lot more like the situation with Perich. Gotta think Koi is playing a big role in trying to persuade Roman to stay home given how similar their situations are.

Gophers football and men’s basketball among programs shining academically in latest APR report

Wow....really surprised to see Iowa out of the mix. Gives me hope that we have a good shot of keeping him home similar to Koi who had it down to us and Ohio State. Small town Minnesota kid so hopefully he has seen what things have been like for Perich and wants to follow in his footsteps...

Apparently you can go home again - "Scott Frost reportedly receives 5-year, $22.1 million deal to return to UCF"

I don't disagree....I completely view recruiting rankings as something for entertainment purposes only. But on paper he was bringing in really good talent at Nebraska but it never came together on the field the way. As for UCF, he was only there for 2 seasons the first time so no clue how much...

247 College football bowl projections: Updated spring picks for 2025 season (GameAbove Sport (Big Ten/MAC): Minnesota-Ohio)

You always know we are getting into the slow news time when the preseason bowl projections start coming out. Literally just throwing darts at a board and putting teams against each other.

Apparently you can go home again - "Scott Frost reportedly receives 5-year, $22.1 million deal to return to UCF"

If you put any stock at all in recruiting rankings he wasn't having any trouble getting talented players to commit to Nebraska even if they weren't in his backyard. Nebraska under Frost was the poster child for a team where the recruiting rankings and on field performance did not match at all...

Sporting News: Ex-Gophers QB Max Brosmer has ‘legitimate shot’ to make Vikings 53-man roster

Yep, really easy kid to root for and I certainly wouldn't bet against him. Unlikely that he ever becomes a full-time starter in the NFL but I could see him carving out a spot in the NFL and having a long career. Also seems like the type who could do well in coaching if he wants to go that...

Sporting News: Ex-Gophers QB Max Brosmer has ‘legitimate shot’ to make Vikings 53-man roster

Would be awesome if he could earn the #3 spot. Make a ton of money, keep developing, and who knows, maybe things break for him to be a career backup or even a starter at some point down the line. Backup QB in the NFL is one of the sweetest gigs. You make a lot of money, don't get hit, and...

Apparently you can go home again - "Scott Frost reportedly receives 5-year, $22.1 million deal to return to UCF"

Not a horrible gamble on UCF's part....will be interesting to see if he is able to replicate anything close to the level of success they had in 2017. On the plus side for UCF, they don't have to worry about his dream job swooping in again since they already did that once and it went horribly. :)
