You want a "magic number" for Gophers to hear name called on Selection Sunday? Go with 22

They were a very bad team that improved over time and started to turn it around in mid January. The rankings take the season as a whole and way under estimate a team's improvement.

Seth Davis: Ben Johnson has done an incredible job with this team. One of the elite coaches in one of the toughest jobs in America.

From a strictly coaching perspective he is looking pretty good at this point. Based strictly on talent he probably should have one or two big ten wins and not seven. More to coaching at major D1 level though and the elite label would obviously be more than a stretch and because he has never been...

Agree, Utah basketball ruled in the past, state was crazy about them. Not sure how it is today though.

Ben Johnson Post-Game Following Northwestern Loss

I think I read that contracts might be part of the agreement, guys can sign the contract to play college ball or go elsewhere to continue their playing days. Everything is conjecture right now so who knows what the end result will be.

Ben Johnson Post-Game Following Northwestern Loss

If it works the way it's been proposed and schools can't load up on NIL outside of the revenue sharing plan without a cap then things should even out. Schools like Texas A&M won't be able to pay players any more the Minnesota without breaking rules and doing it under the table. There won't be...

Dawson Garcia - Has he become one of the best in the Country?

I have to believe he will get an oppertunity as a backup, he can score, not going to be a star but he has been dominating lately.

    Fire Ben Johnson

If revenue sharing is adopted this article estimates the amount of money available to the schools in each conference. It also includes total revenue of the top 15 athletic programs. Five Big Ten Schools are in the list, Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State, and Wisconsin. The numbers are...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT PENN STATE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Rigsby had a good game but he disappears against teams that have big physical athletic guards, I doubt he will be effective against Illinois.

B1G soliciting preliminary bids from private equity firms

I'm confused, what would private equity firms provide, infusion of cash or ?, would they be selling the future for money today.

He was very successful at Iowa State, when you basically are comparing records with the purpose of finding a coaching replacement I don't see how it isn't relevant.

Maybe better recruits but that is it. Did you watch how the Pitino teams played, might as well go to Elliot Park to watch that brand of basketball.

Coyle cut a deal with Ben this off-season

About ten years ago I took my dad to a luncheon where Joel Maturi was speaking while he was still AD. The one thing that sticks out in my mind is he said that if you knew just 10% of the stuff that occurs on an ongoing basis you would probably just choose to shut down the athletic department...

***OFFICIAL OREGON AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

The non conference schedule for the most part is filled in after Johnson has had a chance to evaluate his talent for the year. I think the NC schedule was dumbed down intentionally to give the players time to develop and jell as a team. I didn't expect much but at this point I am pleasantly...

Of course I was looking at the girls thinking it was the boys. Anybody have a chance of beating the Cretin boys.

I don't pay close attention to High School basketball but where is Cretin, I would think they would be in the top 4 or 5 in 4A.

Asuma when Ben will finally start Isaac

The little I have seen is that Revenue Sharing my also address the issue of the NIL collectives, they may be on the way out, all speculative at this point though. Trying to give control back to the NCAA while addressing player issues.

Asuma when Ben will finally start Isaac

Not sure open transfer will be an option next year. Revenue sharing has a clause in it regarding contracts and transfer rules. Hard to tell what if anything will come of it but high school recruiting might become critical again and easy transfers more difficult.

    Typical reaction to win

It is important because they appear to be improving. They've played well three out of the last four games. Is it enough for Johnson to keep his job probably not, but it is fairly obvious at it's basic level Johnson isn't that bad of a coach. Much more to being a high level division 1 coach than...

***OFFICIAL MICHIGAN AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

That was pretty bad, not a fan of out of bounds plays under the apposing teams basket, prefer to have the quickest guy all by himself, let him get open, inbound the ball, and let him bring the ball up all alone. Shouldn't be a team that doesn't have one ball handler that can do it, I would Asuma...

B1G Head Coaches previous head coaching experience

That is key, compared to revenues at a school like Creighton they should be more than capable of competing at the NIL level. The case against other Big Ten schools is going to be just as tough but keeping guys like Hawkins and Payne should be much easier. I think they are going to be able to...
