I sure wish they would try and run it on 3rd and 1 once in a while….

SOUND OFF! Post-Game Thread: Gophers Lose Heartbreaker to Hawkeyes, Again, Fleck Remains Winless vs Iowa.

Fleck would like to be a run-first, ball control, solid defensive team. I'd just like to be a team that wins more games. Don't care how it's done.

I completely agree, but the MSHSL does NOT care.

All Things 2022 Minnesota High School Football Thread

It would be awesome to see the smaller classes do crossover games at the section level. Direct quote from the MSHSL when this was proposed, "We don't care about the best teams making it to state. We want representation from all over the state." Of course that same "rule" doesn't apply to 6A...

All Things 2022 Minnesota High School Football Thread

This is exactly what is going in with HS football. The gap between the "haves" and "have nots" is growing ever wider, but I don't think that there is a clear answer on how to solve it. Any solutions are basically the MSHSL "picking winners". Every decision they make that is a "solution" for one...

***OFFICIAL wisconsin AT MINNESOTA BATTLE FOR THE AXE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Well, honestly the Gophers passing tree is basically just a stump. fade or slant. That’s all they have.

That pass play to Irving was actually well designed. Very nice.

Agreed. That is poor play design. Putting Tanner in a no-win situation there.

    Prep Bowl Discussion

I think L-O blasts Fertile. Their QB is an incredibly quick kid and their FB is just a tank running downhill. I think Chatfield beats West Central pretty handily as well even without their stud QB. Both the AA and 9-man Section 1 are loaded with good teams... I think the 9-man state championship...

Minnesota High School Football Section Championship Matchups

I'll still pick Chatfield to win the game. The QB is a very dominant player, but they have some great talent besides him though. It's almost like the Cal teams of years past where they lose a great player at some point in the season and still go on to win it all. I'll also take Leroy-Ostrander...

Most disappointing season in my time being a fan

I will add that I thought that this was the year to break through that ceiling of winning the West. Once you do it one time, then that mentality of we can’t do it is gone. Maybe it opens up a new future of being consistent contenders for the West title?

This has been quite an answer the last two drives.

How do you want to be a running team and yet not draft any run blocking offensive linemen? Maddening.

Most disappointing season in my time being a fan

The OP covers every single one of my thoughts on this year‘s team. So disappointing. I really thought they had the team this year to take that big next step of winning a West Division title.

    OL Report: Illinois Full Game

To me, our OL problems come down to running into loaded fronts. We are almost always -1 and often -2 in the box. That ONLY works if you have a mobile QB that can account for one of them. We do not have that. Teams are daring Morgan to run and then go try to hit him. Another problem I feel is...

Post Game Reaction Thread: Illini Beat Gophers

I know the defense played better after the first two drives but I’m not giving them a pass either. WHY play with two high safeties for the first two series when EVERYONE and their mother knows Illinois is going to run downhill?? Illinois’ defense wasted not a single play rolling man zero or man...
