No he’s actually a clown for reading it out loud. There is no reason to read it out loud. I’m black & wouldn’t read it out loud in a professional setting. Would you read the F word or any other word expletive in a professional setting during a meeting?

No, the coach from Rogers who got fired. That was what the whole incident stemmed from

This is nonsense. It's incredible that you believe this. How often have you been around African American people to know how commonplace it is? Also, I grew up in a majority-white town and was called the N-word way more growing up than when I moved to the cities with more people of color. You...

so it being common place in the African American community is what made this happen even though the tweets he read were actual racist comments from a white coach. The tweets that he read used the N word with an er at the end. Explain to me how that makes sense.

"If you look at Tubby Smith, there is absolutely no reason that he should've been fired." Interview w/ Kendal Shell

The Royce & Trevor thing, combined with Devoe failing drug tests, made Tubby recruit more conservatively. He also had health concerns during the last couple of seasons here.

It was a white coach who tweeted it. He read a tweet from a WHITE coach. Why are we blaming black people using the word amongst each other for a mistake that someone has admitted that he made. He also has multiple resources that he could have asked before even reading the tweet. He has 2 black...

I mean I have family members who use it in a similar fashion. I have no issue with it. Some black people have chose to embrace the word because it was use so long in a derogatory way that they feel like they are taking the power back. I don’t use it because I don’t want others to use it around me.

It was unacceptable and not mainstream or common through music from 1970 to at least 90s rap and the word never disappeared. What slur has actually ever disappeared? This is very delusional. This thread isn’t even about a white person wanting to use it. It is about a white person actually using...

Civil Rights movement ended over 50 years ago yet the words still exists. We have known the impact of that word since before then especially when used by white people. I don’t understand 1 why people think it will ever go away & 2 why would a white person use it in 2023 knowing the consequences?

    Eden Prairie Coach

There are a lot of slurs that are used through media, but that doesn't make them okay to use. Also, that word has been used in the media forever. As I said, the word shouldn't be used by anyone, but if the group that the word was always used to offend decides to say it to each other, it isn't...

    Eden Prairie Coach

Please explain to me when white people have been okay to use the word. There are plenty of double standards across the board. Let's not act like this is the only one. I don't see the point of a white person using the word knowing the possible consequences.

    Eden Prairie Coach

If you don't say the word, you shouldn't worry about who can say it. So many people are focused on the wrong thing. Don't put yourself in that situation, period. Flom could have gotten that point across without saying the word. To act like he is being unfairly persecuted doesn't make sense. He...

I don’t see how this is so hard to understand. Even within the lesson, he used the actual word he’s telling the players not to use. On top of it, he is talking about the repercussions the coach who tweeted faced then makes the mistake he is telling his players not to make. He surely had to...

Def agree. The 23, 24 & 25 classes also make the reasoning behind Ben’s hiring kinda pointless bc it’s not like there will be a large number of MN kids who we should be offering. We missed on a golden era of MN recruits n we overreacted

Groves is probably Mid Major at best. TT was part of a down year as far as in state recruiting n he benefited off that imo (as welll as being 6’11) if you watched him play in high school, you wouldn’t have guessed high major
