All things golf

Well the Caddy (Austin Gaugert) was yelling at his "boss", Higgo.

Of course if I were in the same position, I would hope like hell my underling was "yelling" at me (respectfully) to get my ass in gear, but that's just me.
That's the report. Apparently, the guy wanted to give his employer the best chance to make the cut and earn a paycheck for both of them. My guess is the caddie needed it more than the pampered, entitled golfer. He suffered a 2-shot penalty and missed the cut and a paycheck by one (1) stroke.

Of far more interest, he's still the most consistently good golfer on the planet, but Scheffler's level of play seems to be falling back to the crowd chasing him.

I found this absolutely fascinating and riveting. Three minutes well spent! Might have to go and see if I can put some of this in my bag

Something I just learned. Watching the Charles Schwab during work today, I found out the lady announcer on ESPN's Rickie Fowler feed is Emma Carpenter. Gopher golpher. And Eric Van Rooyen is 1 shot back to start day 2, another former Gopher golpher.

I used to be a fan, but geez, he just can't help himself. So entitled, and I say this, knowing how generous he can be.
I was a huge Lefty fan also but not so much anymore

Adam Scott teeing it up in the 100TH Consecutive Major I think is a quite remarkable achievement

Astounding really, to be eligible and healthy for all 4 of them for a quarter of a century.

He joins Jack Nicklaus as the only players to reach triple digits. The Golden Bear reached a gaudy 146.

winds 30mph all day. It's going to be a bloodbath. I'd be surprised if anyone shoots under par today.
Wind moving balls on the greens- shouldn't have lowered those mowers USGA

So far, 70 holes played by the field: 2 birdies 38 pars 26 bogeys 3 doubles1 other

Not cheering against Clark (like some folks I guess) and I was already kinda pulling for Burns before seeing this but damnit, this seals the deal. That's a respectable deer, no doubt about it

Go Sam Burns!!

I think people don’t like Clark because he acts like an entitled douche. Bunch of property damage at oakmont, the whipped club at quail hollow and the being around kids is great birth control doesn’t exactly charm people. Add to it people love Scottie so wasn’t surprising.

I also like Burns. Humble dude. Both he and Scottie seems to share the same values. Idk why people feel this need to make it political

The comments on the above tweet are pretty funny though. My favorite is “Hating Wyndham Clark is the most bipartisan thing on the planet” lol

Have been a couple guys tossed today for yelling don’t choke at him

I actually had to do an internet search earlier today (or yesterday, can't remember) on why people don't like Clark. I had either forgotten or didn't know about the locker damage and other incidents at previous tournaments. Not a good look, at all, but I'm not sure that's really that much of a reason to be hating on a guy as much as they do.

I was hoping for some competition on Sunday before I sneak out to the course myself and we're getting it. This should/could come down to the last hole or so

Clark doing his best to keep guys in it. I'm hoping Burns comes back and wins one as he's one of favorite players to not have won one.

Golf is one of those weird sports that some guys get a ton of leash to act up but by and large they expect you to behave with tons of decorum. The driver incident is worse to me as he did not miss hitting someone by much at all and that's just impressively careless for those around you and the comment at the Masters, even if its a joke, is not a great look for what the Par 3 day is all about. I think he just makes a lot of people not fans of his (and he's not good enough to try play the "villain" role like some guys play into). Bryson would be another guy who fits that mold for a lot of people similar to Patrick Reed

I started rooting for Clark when all the assholes in the gallery were really starting to get on him.

Nice rally to fend off a Shark-job.

Same here. Seriously, the powers that be in golf should be discussing whether major golf tournaments should be he held in NY. Fans behavior in the last couple Ryder Cup and this tournament was atrocious

Hard work to make Clark into a sympathetic figure, but the NY gallery achieved it.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Its got to be maddening for the players, USGA, PGA. everyone, to deal with these knuckleheads every time there's a major golf event there. Not to mention Shinnicock also has grid-locked traffic issues. I wouldn't go back.
