Kurt chimes in:
Roy Price Jr. still has one more season left to star for the Newark football team, but he now knows where he will spend his future.
Price, a defensive end, recently announced his commitment to the University of Minnesota.
"Truly blessed to be able to be in the position to announce my commitment to the University of Minnesota," Price posted to his X account June 2.
Price made 73 tackles, including 16 for loss, and seven sacks, and he forced two fumbles last season for Newark. He has helped the Wildcats record back-to-back winning seasons, the program’s first two in 20 years
"Roy possess a rare combination of great ability matched with a strong desire to develop himself physically, emotionally and spiritually," Newark coach Bill Franks said.
Price initially had received offers from several Mid-American Conference schools. During the spring, he notably added Pittsburgh and Boise State in addition to Minnesota.
Go Gophers!!
