What grade would you give the hiring of Greg "Boom" May?

What grade would you give the hiring of Greg "Boom" May?
 

I would give it a "C." Greg May probably can become a grade A coach but the Gophers should not be a developmental program. They needed to hire someone with name recognition and tons of high-level experience.
 


I gave it an "F" based on the optics alone. If we needed "a different voice in the locker room", why did we hire a guy that previously had a voice in our locker room?

I find it highly unlikely this hire does anything to help our program catch up to WIS and OSU. Oh well.
 

I'm going to say D. It feels like an uninspired hire. Tapping the assistant of the guy you just parted ways from doesn't make really make sense for wanting to move in a better direction. There's also not many shining examples of success on his resume or background you can point to to make it seem like a great hire.

I go with D, though, mainly because he at least had a good record at Augsburg (41-15) there's some history that he can win, and he's shown to have a good offensive mind as an assistant coach. Hopefully things go well.
