BIG Tourney 2026

Thought the Gophers battled hard and it was a tough hard fought game. They beat the Gophers off the dribble a few too many times and OSU hit more threes than the Gophers, that was the difference in the game. Hart put up good numbers and continues to be a force. Hopefully the Gophers get healed up and make a good run in the NCAA tournament.

I see Penn State fired Kieger after 7 seasons, not surprising after this years last place finish. That and Rutgers fired Coquese Washington. Wonder if the Purdue coach Geralds will be retained.

Too many TO’s n not enough Tori time results in the L. We win with more balanced scoring and today we needed a 3rd to complement Hart n GG. The winning formula of 10 or less TO’s did not happen today. Rest, regroup and hope we get to host some NCAA games. Go Gophers !

Personally I have enjoyed Tonga and she has had some big games for us.
Yeah, they win or lose based on the play of Tori, GG, Braun. Hart has been consistent and Battle has moments in both directions.

Lot of respect for Iowa coach Jensen on her development of young players and even staying with them as Illinois slowly made it a bit interesting. She kept them in until the end and even mentioned the learning they will get for the future in the after game press conference.

Great regular season and good effort today. Time to get ready to host and hopefully make the Sweet 16. A real possibility. Would be a program-elevating feat.

Was hoping today would signal a change of fortunes in the BIG Tourney. 12 wins and now 33 losses in the event is the lowest winning percentage in the BIG. Gophers are 2 and now 14 in the quarterfinals. Forget it and look forward to NCAA hosting.

What hidden gem is on our bench that is being overlooked by not being given more playing time at the end of games? Maybe Iowa's bench has more potential than ours.

I can't believe the Carolyn Kieger was not fired years ago. She is an abusive coach and everyone in college basketball knows it. Former players, parents, and ex-coaching staff members have all gone on record to say it. In travel ball circles, every AAU director knows that she is a no-go. There are plenty of those coaches in the game. When you see player rosters and coaching staffs turn over year after year ...

Aside from the Gophers loss, it’s been an entertaining and fun tournament to watch. This conference is going to be tough for the next few seasons. So much youth already contributing. Depending on the transfer portal, but I can see this conference being even deeper next year.

This morning espn still has us on the 4 line with West Virginia coming to the barn ad the 5 seed. Wouldn’t that be fun/interesting for Coach P.

IMO only two teams we don’t want to win conference tournament is West Virginia and North Carolina. Otherwise I feel like we should be in the clear to host 🙏🏻🤷🏼‍♂️

I don't believe this team can handle the speed of West Virginia.

Gonna be a tense couple of days. Just wished the Gophers could’ve just cinched it yesterday. As Minnesota fans we should be used to it. Next step in the program’s growth is Big Tourney success and NCAA Tourney success, They are on their way.

UCLA’s D really slowed Cambridge. I would have loved 2 c Hart battle Betts . OSU keeps it respectable losing by 10.

Last year the Gophers played UCLA w/o Braun, this year they played w/o Tori, it would’ve been great to see them play with full starters. I think Gophers would’ve kept it respectable.

Michigan couldn't score and Stulke and Iowa just grinded them the Wolverines into submission in 4th quarter.

First good news of the day is North Carolina lost.
I believe I should be entitled to financial compensation for watching all of the bricks in the first half of the Colorado vs. West Virginia game.

Was thinking the same thing. First time seeing both of these teams and it hasn’t been pretty. WV reminds me a lot of Ohio State without the scoring (They are slow in some positions IMO). Granted I’m sure teams are tired; but, it’s been a struggle.

The Gophers win in Iowa City continues to look better and better. Iowa stamped itself today as clearly having the 2nd best BIG season, yet the Gophers handled them without that much difficulty. Just as Iowa matches up well with Michigan, the Gophers match up well with Iowa.

WV escapes with an ugly victory. Don’t think that win against a last four in Colorado team moves the needed. Now if WV beats TCU tomorrow there’s talk they will move to the 4 line. Not sure what team they would replace.

Also we need to make sure Texas handles Ole Miss. (Texas up 2 at the end of the 3rd quarter)

Ironically, both the Gophers and Michigan kind of play with 4 guards at all times. But it's weird how different the results were when facing Iowa's double bigs.

This TCU and WV game is stressing me out. Need the frogs 🐸 to pull this out!

TCU in foul trouble it is going to be tuff for them to pull this off. Neither team looks very impressive.
How is TCU ranked so high? Not playing very smart and they’re allergic to rebounding. Foul trouble doesn’t help. WV really wants the 16 seed.
