I just love how well Durkin is playing right now! Not only is his 3 pt shot really falling, but his defense hasn't been a weakness. In the last 4 games: 16 ppg, 23-37 overall, 14-27 from 3, 5-5 at the free throw line. He has only 5 fouls total. I thought we would have trouble with our current from line, but Durkin has stepped up.

The floor spacing with 4 3p shooters is great! And wow can this team cut.

Yes, he's been a good starter with a skill set that fits well with the rest of the team. My only wish is that he would get to the foul line a little more often but I think he is very cognizant of his strengths and weaknesses and he doesn't quite trust his ability to attack the basket in traffic.

Awesome!! Well deserved was thinking this myself.. out of necessity he was put in the starting lineup and he makes the team better.. all the little things he really understands the offense.. cuts at the right time always has his head up to pass.. knocks down some shots.. boxes out.. not laterally gifted but understands positioning which helps compensates that… he is a basketball player!!

If you would have told me back in November that Durkin would have the type of impact he has had on this team I would have laughed. He deserves a lot of credit. Plays his ass off and is very composed out there.
What I notice is that he can catch nearly any pass sent his way which has reduced turnovers. He also sees the court extremely well when passing. Yes, Bobby has been excellent as a Gopher.

I remember him from high school and knew he'd be a solid college player

If they did a remake of Hoosiers right now he would be a slam dunk for the role of Jimmy or one of the other players.

Have seen with other transfers that it takes them a little bit to adjust to the new level but Bobby has really started to settle into his role on this team and make an impact. If he could create his own shot he would be even more deadly on the offensive end but as long as he can get good looks he is showing that he can knock them down.

His 3 point shot has really come on of late as well. He would be a perfect 6th man on a good team, hopefully he is back in Maroon and Gold next year.

Great form on his shot. I think it's going in every single time he launches.

I thought he looked pretty good from the start. His numbers were down but every shot he took was right on the rim, they just started falling and his confidence has really taken off.

Durkin has been falsely accused here of being a defensive liability. He's actually a pretty decent team/help defender. It's not the NBA, where it's 1-on-1 isolations all game.

His weaknesses are that he's not much of a threat to drive the lane & can't create his own shot on the perimeter.

Not as big of a deal in Niko's offenses
as in other offenses... Plenty of curls and staggers to come off of, and he does a good job catching and shot faking so he can relocate for a better shot. Plus he's usually pretty heads up when his defender leaves to help at getting to open spots.

Might have been the Green Bay game, but there was an early season game where he was put in a late game situation and when they showed him on camera, it looked like he was about to have a panic attack. He's come a long way since then and certainly proven himself a very capable Big Ten player.

One thing is certain I like Bobby Durkin
You won’t find him shirk’n or jerk’n his gerkin
No siree he’s work’n
To better his game that many called lame
But that now his opponents find hurt’n.
