In the first video you posted someone said Kitzbühel is the excitement, Wengen is the essence of skiing. Right on.

And I agree that the hill makes a huge difference. Bormio should be a good course, Beijing was a disaster, from slalom to DH, it was in horrible condition and had zero character.

Vonn clipped the gate midair in probably the most difficult section of the course, just after the initial speed drop out of the gate. Knocked her sideways midair. Very tough to watch. 30 minute delay as she was airlifted off the course. A second racer is also now being airlifted out.

To Peacock's credit, I believe they've only shown one replay of Vonn's crash.
 

The risk of going there so far under 100% was unfortunately obvious

Such a technical course, not built for gliders. I don’t think the skis ran flat except for the final 300 yards or so.
 

I just came here to say how stupid I thing curling is as an Olympic sport. Sounds like I’m in the minority!

Give me some short track speed skating action quick!!

Have you ever tried drinking a beer while racing around a short track oval? Curling is an "every man" sport, GV...shame on you.
