If he plays well he could move back up somewhereDropping down like that has to be a tough pill to swallow.
He's apparently retained the same guy that represented the Wisconsin player. Grab your popcorn, this could get messy.
Penn State is pulling a Cignetti and doubling up! No need to waste money paying 18-year olds when you can just raid all the best players from your last team!As of the morning of 1/7/26 here are the transfer portal class rankings for the Big Ten by 247.

Potentially a slightly different scenario given the addition of revenue sharing and signing a contract directly with the school. He's apparently retained the same guy that represented the Wisconsin player. Grab your popcorn, this could get messy.
Wonder how much Chip Kelly factored into the decision. Has he historically called plays that spotlight the TE?
I was hoping we would get him but he doesnt really fit the bill as a pj tight end. I, personally would like a tight end that could stretch the field, but with Voss coming and some younger guys they must not have felt another tight end was at the top of their needs.
I hope his middle name is TuesdayYou ignore that when you can add a name like Taco Dowler.
He just blame Lane Kiffen.Williams will do the George Costanza where he quits and then just shows up on Monday as if nothing happened.
I give Williams agent a good chunk of credit for his return to the Huskies. I think the agent dumping him knocked some sense into him. And UW gets the rest of the credit for not releasing him to the Transfer Pool and threatening him with a lawsuit.
Good for him. Wake is a good school. Nice area. Step up in level of play.
Seeing players attend 5 schools over the course of their college career is insane. What a weird time in college athletics. This guy is going on the Big Ten tour
Was probably a shock to Williams when he found out that he couldn't just sign a contract for 5 million dollars and then just have everyone be cool with him deciding to transfer a few days later because Kiffin was willing to offer more.I give Williams agent a good chunk of credit for his return to the Huskies. Never thought I'd see the day when a college football player would be referred to as a "journeyman"......strange times. This guy is going on the Big Ten tour
Transfers used to be fairly rare.....now it is almost surprising when a player hasn't transferred at least once if not multiple times.Never thought I'd see the day when a college football player would be referred to as a "journeyman"......strange times.
I think big name transfers were rare for sure.Transfers used to be fairly rare.....now it is almost surprising when a player hasn't transferred at least once if not multiple times.
