All Things 2025 College Football D2 and D3 Thread

Totally agree. It's embarrassing for all those Wisconsin teams that they can't compete in the division they belong, so in order to try to win, they play in DIII. Can't imagine being a fan of one of those teams.
They belong in the division that they have the funding to participate in. I highly doubt this has anything to do wanting to win.

And UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay are D1 schools. They could say that Mankato and Duluth should be D1 schools as well (hockey alone does not count) by the same reasoning you're using.

And Wisconsin does have a D2 school. UW Parkside. But neither of the other D1 or the lone D2 schools have football teams.

NCAA DII Playoffs
  • Ferris State (MI) defeated NSIC At-Large Minnesota State-Mankato, 52-29
NCAA DIII Playoffs
  • MIAC Champion Bethel defeated Wisconsin Platteville, 35-24
  • Wisconsin River Falls defeated MIAC At-Large Saint John’s, 42-14
NJCAA DIII National Championship
  • College of DuPage (IL) defeated MCAC Champion North Dakota State CS, 36-13

Bethel heads to Naperville, IL to take on North Central College.

Wheaton comes up to River Falls to take on UWRF in a game that may not get above zero. It will be dangerously cold for players, teams, and fans.
Ramer Field @ 2pm, Saturday, for all you folks who hate St John's and want to freeze your backend off.

North Central has dominated D3 the past few years and gets all calls at home. That will be an extremely tough game for Bethel. Good luck to the Baptists!

And I'm guessing an unheated field. At those temps, there must be a huge difference playing on a heated field vs one that isn't.

It might be better to wear the old turf shoes than cleats in those conditions.
Time to pull out the broomball shoes! 😏
Standing for over 2 hours in wind chills of - 20 is not my idea of a fun afternoon. I hope both benches and the stands have access to heaters. Heck, 50 gallon barrels full of fire wood burning would be better than nothing. Cook some s'mores while they're at it.

I can’t imagine they’re gonna play outside in these temps?
