Been some great games today. The Players Era is a pretty cool tournament. Large enough that they are playing games into tomorrow.

Surprised to see Payne on the floor for Maryland.

Watching GCU vs. Utah....
Henley leading the way for GCU....would've been nice to keep him around.
Terrnace Brown (Columbia Heights) leading Utah....did we ever even offer?

Players Era is expanding to 32 teams next year. Would be nice for the Gophers to be able to build a good enough rep in the next few years to actually be selected to play in these higher profile early season tournaments.

And that the program isn't deathly afraid like it has been to actually accept the invitation...

If you guys get a chance, watch UC-San Diego. They play a very fun, very team-orientated style of play. Lots of really good shooters and they're currently leading Towson at the ESPN invitational 40-18.

Henley is the classic example of a frosh coming in and playing a little wild and people think he will never be any good. Well here he is as a senior averaging 17 per game. Kids can develop. One thing that was easy to see about Henley was his athleticism. He just needed time. Also on the GCU roster is wingspan guy - Dennis Evans, but still not playing much.
