If MN wins out they’re either going to Florida or the playoff

2-1 they need Michigan or Iowa to make the playoff IMO to go to Florida

2-1 PROBABLY gets them Nashville or Vegas but it’s all placements so nobody knows

I think the lower levels including Nashville is kinda a crap shoot.

Decisions there seem a bit of a dice game.

Illinois has an easy route so I worry they'll swoop in ahead of us.

Pinstripe (New York, NY): Nebraska ineligible...Rutgers, Minnesota, Maryland have also been within last 8 years) Prediction: Northwestern
Rate Bowl (Phoenix, AZ): Rutgers ineligible Prediction: Nebraska
Sports Bowl (Detroit, MI): Prediction: Maryland/Rutgers winner

The Maryland vs Rutgers game is significant for that final bowl spot. If Rutgers can beat Maryland and get to eligibility, the conference can make a case that they should be moved above Rate Bowl AND Pinstripe due to recent visits, giving them an "undeserved" slot in Music City. That would mean Maryland or Minnesota has to repeat at Pinstripe with the other going to Rate Bowl. Ish. I guess I'm rooting for Maryland this weekend.

Does Vegas pick before Music City? The Las Vegas Bowl was a PAC 12 bowl prior to the new conference realignments and former PAC 12 teams still have a claim to being assigned in the former conference bowls. In some ways I wouldn't mind a rematch with CAL.

I believe Vegas picks before Music. But Music picks before Mayo. USC filled the Pac12 legacy role last year. This year it is supposed to be Pac12 vs B1G so I am assuming the Pac team will be one of the former members from BigXII or ACC

MN isn't making the playoff even winning out.
Oregon has zero good wins right now. They'll add some beating Iowa (which would hurt our SOR), USC, and Wash if they win, but a horrific loss to Iowa, a loss to near .500 Cal and a non-competitive one to OSU will eliminate us

The kicker would be if we made the B10 title game somehow.

The issue now is there's severe lack of H2H in comps so bowls will have full bandwidth to take whoever really. If the games go as they should, I'd guess Vegas or Music City. I don'tknow anymore which bowl was formerly named what so I just hope we don't draw another fucking MAC game and maybe it'll work out I could use it as a bullshit reason to go somewhere random lol

I agree but I also think 9-3 Minnesota would be ranked higher than you think

Last season, in the Alamo Bowl (a PAC 12 bowl), the matchup was between Brigham Young and Colorado and they were both in the Big 12. So, it is possible they could take two teams from the same conference in a PAC 12 bowl.

Interesting Vegas bowl matchups would be Mn vs Washington or Mn vs USC

I actually wouldn't mind seeing the Gophers face either of those projected teams (Pittsburgh or SMU) in a bowl.

There's not supposed to be "picking" anymore since the B1G works with bowls to appropriately "place" teams based on fairly opaque criteria like record, match-ups, and recent appearances. There are certainly tiers of bowls and perceived prestige based on payout and conference affiliation of course.
 

Who in their right mind would want to go to New York City for a football game.? I’ve been there, it isn’t worth the time to get there.

Assume:
A) Oregon makes the playoffs. No other teams do
B) UCLA, Colorado, Stanford will not get to 6 wins.
....then that would leave 7 teams available to fill the 6 bowls listed.
My prediction in that scenario would be:
Alamo: USC (biggest name...hasn't been there)
Holiday: Utah (best team left...hasn't been there)
Vegas: Washington (hasn't been there...but likely depends on which B1G team they'd play)
Sun: Arizona State (hasn't been there.)
LA Bowl: Arizona (hasn't been there)
Independence Bowl: Cal or Washington State (Cal was just there 2 years ago)
