Week 8 Other Games Thread

I hope Northwestern gives Nebraska trouble next week. They usually do.
Northwestern is much better than I thought they’d be preseason

They currently don’t have a win against a team over .500 though. So im not ready to be afraid of them yet

Although, saying a win at Happy Valley against PSU is not as good a win as the Gophers home W against a “ranked” (heavy finger quotes) Nebraska is shaky.

Well I never said that?
But Penn state is 3-4
Nebraska is 5-3

Penn state currently tied for last place halfway through the season

If you are afraid of northwestern, that’s a personal choice

I never said penn state wasn’t a good win. I said northwestern hasn’t beaten a team that currently has a winning record

Ok. 2 things. 1. I take back all the good things I said about Mike Norvell. 2. What the heck happened to Dabo and Clemson?

Northwestern is pretty solid with their Billy Ball program. Shutting out Purdue 19-0.
They will likely be a couple point favorite vs Gophers.
Maybe if the game was played today, but NW will likely be underdogs their next 3 games.

That is easier said than done. Stop the run you beat Iowa. Alot of teams have failed to do that. Hope oue D shows up next week.
Yep. Stop the run and protect the ball. We’ve actually been better than Iowa thus far for turnover margin.

Yup that rule was covered by the NCAA youtube site a few weeks ago!

If someone else signals fair catch but a different player catches it then you don't get the benefit of taking the ball at the 25. It's dead where it is fielded.
Iowa fans would be so confused by this one.

The fair catching the kick rule is absolutely stupid, in my opinion

This adds to that opinion

I don’t think anyone other than the person catching it should be allowed to call a fair catch. Maybe that’s why they mark it where it’s caught, kind of as a penalty?

Anyone is allowed to do it at all levels of football
Not sure the origins of the rule
