Wisky Fans calling it like they see it.....

We dont
But gopher Mac does

Hell
Billy Edwards led Maryland to 1-8 in the big ten last year.
In the 8 big ten losses he was:
8 touchdowns 7 interceptions

In 3 of the last 4 last year Edwards had a lower YPA than O Neil did vs Maryland
And lower than Simmons did vs Iowa

Billy Edwards should play in the SEC.
Mythological all big ten QB even though his year he started each game he was like 12th in passer rating in the big ten

Sample size is small.
But Billy Edwards actually has the the second best QB rating of the 3 they have played this year. And he is closer to 3 than 1.
They’re lucky he got hurt (JK)

Yeah, I don’t think Edwards would save that team.

I'll never forget my badger friend telling me "We don't settle for mediocrity like the Gophers!" when they hired Fickell.
In a way, this “pride” has become their problem.

Wisconsin was a force when Barry Alverez was an experienced HC (after 1993), and the years he was the AD (and the one still actually running the football program on a daily basis). Let’s call that the “Alvarez Era” because the years before and after it look nothing like it.

We all know dozens of Badger “fans” that are going to quickly check-out if the program doesn’t return to the Alverez Era level. That is unlikely to happen, and even less likely to happen quickly. Their fan base is not like Nebraska’s. The whole situation puts their football revenue in jeopardy. Which, in turn, will further impact the product on the field.

There are no easy solutions for them. Fickell’s buyout is huge, and it’s a coin-toss whether their next hire can significantly improve the program. And if he doesn’t, the loss of fans and revenue will grow even deeper. And their fans have lost all faith in the AD at this point too.

The trend line between us and the Badgers has been headed in the right direction to PJ’s great credit.
PJ’s teams beating the Badgers in 2018, 2021 and 2022 may be the single biggest factor that lead to their current plight. Their fans HATE PJ with a passion. Losing to Minnesota caused a huge backlash against Chryst, and total lack of confidence towards Leonard when he was being considered for the HC job. It led to them shooting for the moon with their HC coach hire, which has been more like an explosion on the launch pad.

I like that “explosion on the launch pad” analogy. I might have to file that one away for future use.

So what are our friends from the east saying about being shutout in back-to-back weeks? "The refs screwed them".

Honestly Wisconsin played way better than I thought they would this week.
Their defense is really good. But I lost count of how many Badger players got injured today. They may be out of RBs and QBs by the time the axe game rolls around

I think Fickell is hoping to get fired at this point. His reputation is ruined and he wants that fat buyout check. I'll never forget my badger friend telling me "We don't settle for mediocrity like the Gophers!" when they hired Fickell.
Gotta give them credit. They’ve skipped right past mediocrity to abject failure.

I was very skeptical of the Fickell hire but this is better than I could have dreamed of.
Dropped by Buckyville and it appears the perennial abuse Minnesota and PJ threads are not even on the first page of topics. I mean...the abuse Minnesota threads go back to Brewster and probably even Mase, while PJ and Rupert had special places of ridicule that were often quite funny.

Strange days indeed.

And they still have to play Oregon, Indiana and Illinois before they get to our game.
Could be one of the worst seasons in Badger football history? This should be looked into. 🤣🤣🤣

Just a quick look and I’d say they have a good shot at maybe the 2nd worst season in Badger football history, possibly the worst when you consider 2 home shutout defeats by 34 plus points.

They are improving. Instead of a 37-0 loss at home they only lost 34-0 at home this week. Wonder if it’ll be 3 weeks in a row without scoring?
Their offense was as advertised but the defense never quit.

I think it’s possible this week will be one of the worst of all time for the program.

Is 63-0 the worst ever
