If you said we could have Franklin at MN I’d say no thank you, I’d rather have Fleck.

Rhule is a downgrade from Franklin.Cignetti has to be their #1 target but I don't think he leaves. Rhule would make a lot of sense as he grew up and played there.
Matt Rhule has the highest buyout of any college coach....unless he has a Penn State dream school clause. Not sure you pay that plus Franklin/s money plus new guy money.
or lateral move at bestRhule is a downgrade from Franklin.

Ya, I had a list yesterday that clipped number one...I think Rhule was second ?...good catch.Kirby Smart has a $118mm buyout. Ruhle is around $56mm
Yeah I like him.I don’t see the appeal of Rhule, he had a nice short stint at Temple, then won a bit at Baylor where others had won before him, now he’s at Nebraska where he hasn’t really done much yet, hasn’t elevated recruiting that much. He sucked in the NFL. I don’t get the love affair. His resume isn’t that impressive.

HAHAHA Can't make it up! Reading is not a strength I guess. He is listed first...so my visual was accurate....but they started with number 10.10th

College football's 10 costliest coaching buyouts includes $118 million shock
Coaching buyouts are big business. If a school wants a new coach, it better be carrying a thick wallet into the coaching search. Two years ago, it was considerewww.si.com

Crazy
64 and in a great spot making more $$ than he'll ever need. My guess is they go hard after Rhule, even though I don't think he would be any better than Franklin.Cignetti gotta be #1 target
From Pittsburgh, played at WV (just south of Pitt), first head coaching job was at IUP which has a great DII program in Pennsylvania.
Back up the Brinks truck. Blank check
It would seem that a number of boosters haven't liked him for awhile and were waiting for an ideal opportunity to put pressure on the AD. I agree, this seems knee-jerk. I hope whoever they land ends up being more terriblePenn State has been horrible the past few weeks.
But this whole playoff team a few months ago, a few weeks ago a loss vs Oregon because a knee maybe hit a few blades of grass … to FIRED.
This was insanely fast.
I'd rather have Wisky do that.I’m really hoping they go after Belichick.
Feels like Nebby all over again. It would seem that a number of boosters haven't liked him for awhile and were waiting for an ideal opportunity to put pressure on the AD. I agree, this seems knee-jerk. I hope whoever they land ends up being more terrible

I don't have an issue with this, do you? Here we go now...

High-profile '27 recruits pull Penn State pledges
Penn State suffered an immediate hit on the recruiting trail, will a slew of 2027 recruits decommitting in the aftermath of the decision to fire coach James Franklin.www.espn.com
Hoping Petersohn is one of them perhaps?I don't have an issue with this, do you?

It feels quick but it wasn't surprising. Expectations are so high there and there has been frustration with Franklin being good but rarely getting great results for years. So when things went as sideways as they did this season it wasn't all that shocking however with that buyout I thought that might make them hold off.Penn State has been horrible the past few weeks.

Coaches that have more big game losses than James Franklin in the last 100 years, none. That’s it, that’s the list. No one.
Disagree.Rhule is a downgrade from Franklin.
