It’s pretty clear in the fleck regime, 7-5 or 6-6 seasons will be the standard, but the way he calls a game, we will never shock the world and beat the big boys.

I get there’s a serious talent gap vs Ohio State, but it just seems the last few years, we killed in every contest against top 10 teams.

Ya, generally if a team can execute its base-plan and keep pace a trick play can crack open the game.

If the favored team is the one with the tricks up their sleeve . . .

2 touchdowns short of covering the spread is bad. Not a ton of unexpectedly poor execution on the field so most of it falls to the coaches.

The first drive was an A but pretty much nothing after that worked.

I’m

The problem is they went completely away from what they initially did on the 1st drive.
Tend to agree but the other guys did adjust.

We have however lived long enough to see us advance down the field against superior talent on the first possession (and it not be NW State).

Let's see if we can do it next weekend...

42-3. Don't care if you're playing the Philadelphia Eagles.
Either the recruiting improves massively in the next class, or try someone new.
We're miles from even being a fringe playoff level team.

Ohio State came to play, and at that point there was no way we were gonna win no matter what.

I liked the decision to start off with the ball, and the first couple of drives were very good. It doesn't surprise me that we fell off after that, but the game left me optimistic and with things to look forward to. I didn't have that feeling last time we went to Columbus, so that's something. There were things we did well and on a play-by-play basis we stayed competitive. As coaching goes, I give it a B. Team was ready, not many coaching decisions that I hated, Ohio State was just the much better team.

Can you imagine what we would look like if we had their NIL?

C only because of that great first drive. Otherwise, they sucked.

I don’t know what to grade it

Good scripted first drive A
Defensive coordinator continually running man to man and being awful at it F
Being aggressive in the right spots A
Play calling while being aggressive F

It’s something

We have lost three of our last four games against OSU & Michigan by a combined 131-16. We’re seemingly as far away as ever.

Literally lost by one last time we played a top 10 team.

I might have nightmares seeing #4 getting beaten by OSU receivers by 2-3 steps.

We saw what purchasing the best players looks like. The current system of pay to play results in a system with no parity for Universities that cannot tap into extreme wealth to pay their players. Ohio's bank account is far beyond that of Minnesota. How do you blame coaches for this loss?

F all across the board, out manned, out gunned and out coached.

A winning result was not delivered. We are 0-1 in the 2025 Ohio State Season.
