Jacob Knuth siting on the sidelines of the k st game
My understanding is the general rule is dark for home and white for road. The SEC allows the home team to pick with all conference games. But most go with dark/home, white/road unless the home team asks to switch but road team has to agree. It’s also the home teams call… not anyone else’s…
Up 14-0 alreadyCal playing Beavers on ESPN. Nice preview for us. I'll probably mute and turn on CC...
Alabama is 5-5 in their last 10 games, and that includes an FCS teamAlabama is ranked appropriately but Florida St looks really good.
That game got really chippy as both teams were chirping non stop. NM gave them a battle.
The Cal QB is legit and according the ESPN crew is already the greatest freshman QB who ever lived.Cal playing Beavers on ESPN. Nice preview for us. I'll probably mute and turn on CC...
With their QB that wanted more $$$ from Tennessee, I see why they told him to pound sand. This just in….UCLA looks like garbage again
What does last season have to do with this one? Close losses to good teams and Vandy. Did you watch Florida St today? Did you watch Texas and Ohio St today? All of them are top 10. Alabama was not ranked in the top 5 so ranked 8 is appropriate. Perhaps they are playing quality opponents. Who impresses you? Iowa St who would get crushed by the Tide but hope they beat Iowa next week. Indiana would lose to Bama and probably Illinois? Everyone complaining about rankings put out your own.Alabama is 5-5 in their last 10 games, and that includes an FCS team

Win against (52-7) FCS Mercer (November 16, 2024)
Loss 3-24 against Oklahoma (November 23, 2024)

Loss 13-19 against Michigan (December 31, 2024)
Loss 17-31 against Florida State (August 30, 2025)
Try watching it at a restaurant and two TVs next to each other one is on ESPN and one Skycast and realizing they are 10 seconds apart and wondering what’s going on.ESPN has the skycast option for the LSU game!
Best way to watch football!
A UCLA type win? Hopefully don’t get shut out in first half and win 27-17.Cal is a decent team. If the DL gets pressure, it's gonna make life hard on the talented QB.
Not surprised by their bounce back; the stink last year, but we’re 13-1 in 2023, the year before then (after losing their stud QB to injury at the end of the season IIRC) and 10-3 in 2022. Norvell com coach and us being paid just south of $10M a year, do the talk early in the thread about his seat being hot seems premature. What does last season have to do with this one? Florida St and Utah. Who else impressed today? It’s week 1. In the words of Mike Tice Calm down.
Norvell gave back a large chunk (like 4.5mil) of his salary for revenue sharing as part of restructuring after last year. He can earn large parts back by winning. His buyout will be the issue from firing him, but he absolutely would not survive if they sucked again which is why I think he was comfortable giving salary back knowing he can earn it back and it gives him Better chances to remain in the job.Not surprised by their bounce back; the stink last year, but we’re 13-1 in 2023, the year before then (after losing their stud QB to injury at the end of the season IIRC) and 10-3 in 2022. I'd hire Norvell in a second. Did great at Memphis. Been great at FSU except for last year when everything went wrong. Didn't have a qb, and I think a bit of a despirited squad after they got screwed by selection committee in 2023. You can, I suppose, put some of that on him for not moving them on from that.Norvell gave back a large chunk (like 4.5mil) of his salary for revenue sharing as part of restructuring after last year. I agree. Think he’s a very solid coach they’d be silly to fire, but down south they don’t care if you aren’t winning to give someone timeI'd hire Norvell in a second. Did great at Memphis. Anyway, I predict a really good season for the Seminoles.
Interesting looking at the stats. Oregon St had more 1st downs. Cal was only 2 of 13 on 3rd downs. Cal had 7 plays of 19+ yards. The other 53 plays resulted in just 180 yards.Cal looks tough, they can score, but I put more stock in our defense than Oregon State (yes I'm biased). Should be a good game, I think Gophers can get a W out of it.
