Yeah, I agree with all of this. I will say that I think Shough is probably a 2nd round talent as well (physical tools), he just is really old for a rookie, he's only had 1 decent season, and he's consistently injured.
He's also never been in real trouble. It's more just like "he's cocky". That's difficult to write into a contract. Criminal stuff is a lot easier to write into a contract.
I only think there were two QBs worth drafting in the first two rounds. The rest, IMO, are just being drafted because people are throwing darts hoping they hit a Russell Wilson, Brady or something along the way. I think it's an extremely low chance that more than 1-2 QB in this draft turns out to be a decent starter. I think even Cam Ward would have been like the 4th-6th QB off the board in last year's draft.
I don't think he's a bad guy. I think he's your typical entitled rich kid. Then add in to that your Dad is Deion Sanders. This kid probably thinks he walks on water because nobody has had the guts to be real with him. And Deion wants nothing more than for his son to be great so all he's ever going to do is hype him up but as a father he would probably be doing him well to humble him some too. I mean you can't be a QB and be out there trying to show out like GOAT CB. It's two totally different vibes.

Exactly my point, because he had undeniable blue chip talent. That's not the case with Sanders. NFL will overlook some pretty major flaws for raw talent like that.
Oh yeah, I didn't think you were and I think being lazy and overly cocky can definitely negatively impact your career. I'm just saying it's hard to put clauses into a contract that would let a team out of a contract for cockiness as opposed to criminality/drug use/etc.
I can't find it now but saw a twitter post awhile back that broke his times down a little bit more and a great deal of them were either quick (less than 2 seconds) or long (more than 4 seconds). It makes sense since they ran a lot of quick hitters near the line of scrimmage. The concern is when there's more medium to long distance routes, he held on for too long.
But, one of the important reasons that you draft a player in the later rounds is that you do not have to sign them to a contract that puts too much obligation on the team. If he has a cocky attitude and refuses to buy into the team, you just cut him. No need to put anything into the contract.
Yeah, if you draft him in the first you have a significant amount of money more invested and then you have an obligation to give them a lot more rope before parting ways. You take a guy late, like you said, you don't like it you're out very little money and not much draft capital if you cut them. That's why i think Sanders is really in a bad situation now if he can't correct his persona and really just focus on being the best team mate and QB he can be. He needs put all this Deion swag crap away and humble himself. Maybe he does well and proves himself enough he can be a little more that way but not when you're a 5th rd QB.
If going in the 5th round doesn't wake him up then nothing will. He has to ditch the circus, show up humble and get to work. If he does that he could win their starting job because that QB room is nothing special with Watson, Flacco, Pickett, Gabriel and Sanders. In the end, at least 2 and probably 3 of those guys are going to get cut.
Yup, of any of the later rd picks he has the easiest road to a starting job, IMO.
Yeah it is a really uninspiring list and has to be sad for Browns fans that potentially the best option of the 5 is a 40 year old who might retire
But in the same note, I think he has the easiest path to getting cut. If he comes in not willing to work with the coaches and is disrespectful...Boom.
I think Jaxson Dart could be the breakout QB from this draft.

My other idea is to not have a draft at all. Every team simply hires who they want. Wouldn't that be novel.
