VA Tech QB Dylan Wittke Commits

Decent to have a P5 guy, didn't play but obviously has some talent, likely depth but that's what was needed. This would put us close to the line I imagine, others would have to transfer out for us to add too many more.

Anybody who plays HS football in Georgia is welcomed here lol.
Agree. And he played at Buford, which is arguably one of the top 5 high school football programs in Georgia. Some would argue it is the best. You’re not on the team there unless you have ability.

Figured they had to add a transfer at QB. Sounds like a great athlete with limited throwing reps in high school as he backed up a QB that committed to Stanford. 4.55 forty, arm looks strong. Pretty intriguing addition.

4.55 speed is a nice asset.

Sorry had to do it. Fleck has been rock solid in this portal window. Johnson could be too soon though. Love how this 24 team looks with everyone healthy and changing their best!

Nice prospect, but doesn't really address our need for a QB behind Brosmer with a few college snaps under his belt.

Exactly.

This is basically just replacing Shikenjanski with a higher rated recruit of the same (young) age.

Not any “better” than just rolling with Lindsey as the backup, which could still happen. But if it makes people feel better about the 3rd stringer this year, and provides some legit comp for Lindsey next spring, great!

Sounds like Lindsey has looked very impressive this spring. I wonder if the staff is confident with him at #2.
I don’t think he was “verbally assured” of being the backup this year, let alone playing time, but I have strong doubts they’re goin to land a portal guy with decent playing experience and 2 years left who is willing to “waste” one of those years to come here and be this fall’s Kramer.

3-4 years left sure, but then how much experience is he likely to have?

Some compromise will have to be made, and they may have already made it. This might be it

That was always going to be a tough get given that you have the starter in place already with another transfer. At least they have someone who has a little college experience even if it wasn't on the field.

He was the 85 ranked QB by 247 and had 18 scholarship offers, so there’s probably more to him than meets the eye.
