Jerry Kill gets job at Vanderbilt.

Did he get fired at New Mexico state? I saw him mouthing off at a press conference post bowl game. Seemed to be some blown out of proportion gripe about access to New Mexico Lobos facilities.

lol. This will be his 9th job since he left Minnesota in 2015.

And he didn’t work in 2016 or 2018. Incredible.
The irony is that until he started having seizures at Minnesota, his uncommon stability was perhaps his most notable trait. Same assistants forever, typical linear career progression, one region, relatively slow pace of job changes.

I'd be shocked if he was pushed out given how he resurrected such a terrible program. Plus when they hired him they had to have known that he's prone to making stupid comments in front of the microphone.
Not every school, even bad ones are all about Ws though. Calling out the other school's AD was pretty wild / can have consequences.

The only thing that makes sense is his health is making it too hard to be a full time coach.
It could be that, but he has known about his health issues for years and keeps taking jobs that supposedly aren't good for his health. I'm starting to wonder if it is also due to wearing out his welcome at places and/or he just doesn't like staying somewhere very long (who knows why).

The elderly individual Gerald “Jerry” Kill is a person who trains people in the sport of American “gridiron” football. It’s how he’s identified. It’s in his body fluid that moves through a human’s circulatory system. He turns young males into adult males and the sport of American “gridiron” football is his designated machine designed for travel. He has an occupation undertaken for a significant period of time in the field of athletic training that has led him to positions at multiple educational institutions of higher learning.

Jerry’s on the run! He has made enough money to retire but apparently that’s not in his DNA. He just seems like an unstable job jumper at this point, not sure why anyone hires him.

I wonder if he got the role at Vanderbilt he wanted the U to give him where he could be the liaison between the head coach and the AD.

His college football US tour has been something to behold since he "retired". Wonder where he will be headed in a year or so when he decides to move somewhere else. Assume he is attempting to live/work in all 50 states at this point.....only thing that makes sense.

What I didn't get about any of that was:

1. If you demand a job like that ... that also kinda kills your chance at the job.
2. We already had someone doing that job reportedly BECAUSE Jerry didn't get along with the administration types. Again reason for him NOT to be doing that job.

U made the right call....

1000% the right decision to not bow down to Kill. If I remember right he was offered an administrative role but it wasn't the one he wanted.

I was not a big fan of Kill but I feel bad for the guy. He is clearly hunting for something he just can't seem to find.

Good on ya, Jerry. Keep moving. Keeps you young. It also gives us a chance to read the hilarious detractor and supporter thread every time your name pops up.

Nekton mentality.

Thank God Jerry got another job!

Otherwise you'd have to shutdown every thread on here that mentions his name. It'd be a ghost town. :giggle:

He was denied a mid season raise

He's moving to Nashville just to be around more bachelorette parties.
My first thought wasn't bachelorette parties but I 100% could see him putting on his cowboy hat and strolling into a honky tonk ordering a burger and a beer and enjoying some music and lunch.
