If that is what we are getting then I am on board. We need someone who will take a wholistic approach. Much like coach Fleck. That and support/ infrastructure.
Maybe I am just tired of an endless merry-go-round of coaches and expecting different results.
The point is a coach alone will not significantly elevate this team. At best we'd have a good season followed by a rebuild. We won't get an Izzo, Calipari, etc. Even if the AD could cut the check, they would see that the support just isn't there.
Obviously just my opinion.
I would add that the "new" coach will either have to be the kind of coach that can pull in boosters/ investors that will add to the NIL purse, or the program (Athletic Department) will need to somehow figure out a way increase NIL money. If not, we could be looking at starting over every season/...
Things have definitely changed. There was a time when both Cretin and St. Thomas Academy could line up over 100 players. Yes some of them were underclassmen who would only see the field in a extreme emergency (injuries), but it was still impressive to see them line up. Especially homecoming...
Yes. St. Marks, Nativity, St. Columba, St. Peter Claver, and others I missed. I didn't name St. Agnes, nor St. Bernards (No longer has a school?) because they were/ are k-12 schools. I am sure there are others in St. Paul that I missed. I assume De LaSalle gets many of the Minneapolis athletes?
Question for the board. Does Cretin still pull athletes many/ any from Minneapolis and St. Paul? It's been a while since I've followed Minneapolis and St. Paul city conferences. At one time Cretin, Hill-Murray, and St. Thomas used to be able to cherry pick players.
Not sure those areas produce...
