I stole this information and link from GopherGrit from the "Scoggins: Mark Coyle" thread. I just thought it was great information many of you would be interested in seeing too. I did not view the whole report and just jumped to the revenue summary page on 29. If we assume "Not Allocated by...
I can't believe Voss scared him away, but the timing seems to make it likely. There are 22+ positions on a football field and guys with that kind of height and athleticism can play a lot of them. Not sure why we couldn't get creative getting two of them on the field as tight ends or hybrids...
I'll admit, a part of me is going to miss the overweight Bret jokes. Some were pretty funny and I didn't feel too bad about it because I figured he was laughing at us peons all the way to the bank.
On the other hand, very happy to see he is losing the weight.
Things have changed since we now basically have a P-2. I'd expect our rankings to increase because all the other conferences have trouble competing with all our money.
Below are the B1G & SEC standings from last year as a starting point. We will likely never jump over Oregon, Penn State, OSU...
I'm sorry if you enjoy these sports and they are likely going away. It sucks when you have a history with something and you lose it. I do empathize with you on that. All I can say is we definitely don't have a shortage of entertainment options in this down. Am I right?
I am, however, on the...
I actually agree with you. Fairness and parity is not what we had for the last 20 years. The SEC dominated because recruiting footprint was the most important. Now money and eyeballs are the most important and we're pretty equal to the SEC in that regard.
Well, we've basically narrowed it down to two choices:
1) He likely doesn't leave because he already has a ton of money and is comfortable being near the pinnacle of success in his industry.
2) He still wants to be THE best in his business, not just one of the best, and get the money that...
Moving forward with basically college free agency, the SEC dominance will likely decline more than it already has. It is within the real of possibilities that the B1G passes the SEC in dominance even from a depth perspective because a lot of B1G schools have a lot of money, large fan bases and...
It would be fun if they moved them both around. Use the Travis Hunter example as a way to keep guys closer to home. You'll have the opportunity to shine at multiple positions. The chances you can do something like that at Alabama or Ohio State are basically nil. They have too much talent to...
Add Quinn Carroll to this list and you're at 13 Gophers, only eleven can play at a time. It's got to be nice walking into a recruit/transfers home and saying if you can make our starting line up, you'll have a 50% chance to actually show your stuff on an NFL team.
I wonder if this is a Gopher...
I love Nebraska being down, but do seem to be improving. This year is a big one for them! Their only bad loss last year was to a better than expected UCLA team that almost beat us. They have a five star QB coming back for his second year starting and we have a three star starting for the...
