I should hope they can beat a team with lesser talent than they have on THEIR HOME FLOOR. Man, the bar is barely off the floor, isn't it?
Don't get blown out by Pitt. Then we'll talk.
And what a favorable schedule! Penn State, UCLA, USC, all at home! And home matches with Wisconsin and Purdue. They beat Indiana on the road. I give them that. But the only other road match (without a reciprocal home match) against a team above .500 was Michigan and they embarrassed themselves...
Top 10 is a reasonable expectation, especially this season. I give them a pass for the injuries. I don't give them a pass for not being competitive v Wisconsin and for losing to Michigan, UCLA and Oregon (also not competitive in those matches). USC at home after being up 2-1?
I've already run out of patience, but if this team isn't seriously in contention for 2nd in the B1G next year? There needs to be a change.
OR an acceptance that the expectations for Gopher volleyball need to be more like that of Gopher football.
Oddly enough, I don't think it was the frosh (playing due to injuries) that fell short this season. Hanson was very good but not the 1st team AA we needed her to be (and her ball control was not good). Swenson (not really a frosh) needed to be an elite setter. Was this too high of an...
I get this, but Michigan, Oregon and UCLA should not have been losses. That's 15. USC and Purdue matches were definitely winnable. So that's Nebraska and Wisconsin x2 (although I'm not sure why they couldn't be more competitive with the Badgers. They had a very easy schedule and went 12-8. Yes...

Can't say anything really jumps out at me here, other than how weak 12-16 are. And that Minnesota is probably the weakest of those five. But I can't see the case for anyone else 17 and below either. UTEP? With only ONE top 25 match, which they...
No. 10. Just seemed like 1. Gophers scored 53 points and 14 were Badger service errors. Add the 10 hitting errors and, well, you aren't going to be very competitive when you only score 29 points in 3 sets.
Michigan, UCLA and USC at home were bad losses. Getting reverse swept by Purdue, also not great. Loss at Oregon not good.
Anyhow, losing in Madison and at Purdue were excusable. Maybe two more? But, seriously, 15-5 should have been the floor. I like that they are playing better and a win...
I really think they should have gone no worse than 17-3, even with all the players injured. And 19-1 was a real possibility. The conference is really, really down this year. I think the tournament will expose that -- although it could be that the entire country is down this year, save for one team.
