Any comments about prospects for the 2026 Gophers season? It would be interesting to hear from anyone attending the fall ball games. (Too far for me to drive.)

My feelings exactly. It seems a catcher transferred in from Texas Tech. Even one quality addition is more than I'd expect. However, with Autumn Pease around the program that's good. I'll attend any game she's a part of, even as ass't coach.

Will Schwartz be the only D1 talent left on the roster?

Yes, it's possible to buy a dominant pitcher for over a million. It's also possible to grind her into the ground pitching endless innings in a row to pursue that championship, which Stanford tried to do with her and now Texas Tech, too.

Anyone have ideas about a timeline for possible changes in Gophers staff or roster? Hate to say it, but my feeling is: No change = no chance.

Your points are quite good & statistically better supported than mine, but SG, AF, & AP came to campus all able to compete & win given proper support.

More important than 'developing' pitchers is recruiting ones who are already good when they arrive. Groenewegen was BigTen Pitcher of the Year as a freshman; Fiser went 13-1 as a freshman, and Pease beat FSU as early as February of her first year at MN. Good pitchers tend to be ready early.

Personally I can't see this coaching staff bringing in the level of needed on-field talent. I try to be optimistic, but.......

Demanding more from everyone is one thing, but finding players with enough talent to produce more/enough is an entirely different thing. Besides Schwartz, I don't see any player returning for 2026 with the talent to excel at a winning D1 level.
