It's a typical state college IMO. Indistinguishable from hundreds of others across the country where the ambience is more tire plant than architecture. It doesn't matter, though. The undergrad experience is about relationships.
FWIW, I think that ranking is for the graduate education school category (e.g., masters in education). Still a higher rating than what I would have guessed.
My point being, teams like the Gophs might be able to strip off some highly rated HS players if losing their expected early playing time to portal players becomes a trend.
Who knows, at some point, we might find some extremely highly rated players picking the good development programs out of HS to get playing time if the dollars are at least somewhat within range. For example, do you think Oregon shared with their 5-star incoming HS safety before he signed that...
Yeah. Feels like a plan to be a feeder program. It's a risk. Maybe a good risk and only real option as the Gophs won't compete head to head with the big $$ programs. One way to success is having another 2019 or better season to develop a reputation and build from that. However, if Clemson can't...
It's still a gamble. He starts at MN no matter what and likely goes to the NFL (like several other Gophers before him) where the real money is. It's not a sure thing he's even a starter at Oregon by the time the incoming 5-star and high 4-star safeties get their feet wet not to mention current...
My thoughts as well. He'll be battling multiple players more highly rated than him so good luck. Hopefully the competition squeezes the shitbird out of him.
I think this is true to some extent. My perception is that the SEC has been spoiled with former big advantages, got lazy (like a lot of orgs do in that situation), and could be playing catch-up. I have no idea if that is actually true or not.
I'm wondering if the SEC-heavy preseason polling and...
If I was Duke, my goal would be to recoup some form of compensation or damages from the player or new team as the late movement hampered their ability to attract a replacement QB. In no way would he be on the roster next August.
Those $$ allow depth, too. Unlike last year where Indiana was super lucky, they had multiple injuries this year that I thought would derail the season. That’s often the story for good non-blue bloods (see Minnesota 2021).
