Cam Christie is entering the Transfer Portal

LOL. Money. What a clown show. Schools or NIL collectives will eventually be suing for financial damages for getting bent over late in the process like this.

    Gopher Softball 2024

One more to tie Lindaman and two for the school record if I'm not mistaken. Next weekend could be it!

    Gopher Softball 2024

Moulton Moulton - Groenewegen Groenewegen Groenewegen - Fiser Fiser - Smith Fiser - Pease Pease ?? We're in a new age. I'm guessing some significant NIL money will be needed to get back to the quality dual pitching scenario. Can PJ recruit softball too?

    Gopher Softball 2024

Whoa. I knew there were pitching issues but I can't remember ever seeing the Gophers at the bottom of conference ERA. Opponents are batting .344 against the Gophs. https://bigten.org/stats.aspx?path=softball&year=2024&conf=true

    BREAKING: Elijah Hawkins to transfer

Under-the-table payments have always been illegal if payments over $600 aren't reported to the IRS via 1099. It's near impossible to track, though. A bigger deterrent will be the eventual massive civil lawsuits when someone gets caught tampering and breaking contracts. That will come.

    BREAKING: Elijah Hawkins to transfer

Universities are in a quandary. Big time athletics drives donations and marketing awareness as well as TV/gameday revenues. Do the donations continue if the athletes and sports are separated from the universities?

    BREAKING: Elijah Hawkins to transfer

Agreed. The high-dollar, high-interest college sports business model isn't compatible with the new free and easy transfer rules. The golden goose will collapse eventually. A major reason why fans get invested in teams is for the individual personalities and styles. Take that away, and interest...

    BREAKING: Elijah Hawkins to transfer

Not surprised at all. I've totally lost interest in college basketball over the past few years to the point I barely watched any games this year. I used to be a Gopher season ticket holder, but couldn't really give two shits nowadays. Part of the joy of college sports for me is watching a team...

Is this the Next evolution of NIL - Corporate Sponsors (FedEx Inks Deal)

If I was a current athlete, I'd walk around campus looking like Roy MacAvoy in Tin Cup with cheesy company logos adorning my clothes if it paid enough.

It actually started in softball right before that. Not sure about the other sports.

    No Sitting Out for Transfers

The NCAA is just the collection of voluntary member institutions that propose and pass rules on how athletic competition will be operated. It's not "the law". Universities don't need to be part of the NCAA and athletes aren't forced to attend an NCAA institution. It makes absolutely no sense to...

    No Sitting Out for Transfers

I was shocked when Kendyl Lindaman (former All American Gopher softballer) left Minnesota around Thanksgiving and was playing in a Florida uniform a few short weeks later. This was 2018-2019. At the time, I was glad that football hadn't devolved into that kind of mess. The time is now.

Oklahoma AD has gone crazy, wants an off campus basketball arena / facilities ... with a $1B entertainment district development ...

For viability surrounding collegiate funding Harroz outlined four things that would ensure the process functions correctly: * antitrust, * complying with Title IX, * settling the question of whether athletes are employees and * ensuring that non-revenue-generating sports survive. [I added...

Every Single Scholarship Gophers Football Player Has an NIL Deal, PJ Fleck Reveals

Do what you like, of course, but I wouldn't go long with DJT right now unless you're just trading it. These SPAC stocks usually get hammered after the initial run up and Trump haters in the trading markets (potentially large institutions and governmental players) could do their best to drive the...

P.J. Fleck and players spring conference.

I've been watching Kurt Warner's videos on breaking down the NFL draft QBs and he places huge stock on the them "hitting the layups" on short yardage throws as key to NFL success in addition to pre-snap reads. For example, he's down on Drake Maye for missing a lot of lay ups even though he has a...
