Graduated in 1968 so who knows how many seasons I still have. But, damn, I hope there are enough to see what Niko will do here. Had forgotten how much fun a well-coached team can be to watch. That he's getting results like this with all those injuries is amazing.
Aaargh!!!! But I'm going with a glass is half full take. As painful as this has been, it will be so much sweeter next year when we pull off the equivalent of Hoosier football. From a cursed squad to one that surprises the league. Not predicting a national title but it's going to be a lot...
I'm assuming it's behind a paywall, but Chip Scoggins's story on the Medved family is a great read. Here's the last part of it. The first part is about Niko's dad, Miro, and his long journey out of Yugoslavia to the Iron Range to Roseville. Can't remember if Niko was seriously in the mix to be...
Fun watching those two run. I had forgotten how fast and violent they were when they ran. So thanks for that!
But then you brought back a lot of trauma. Watched Maroney running it three times trying to get a first down. Total of nine years. We had to punt.
Fumbled snap. Blocked punt. TD...
My hatred of the Badgers was established in 1962 when Bobby Bell got that roughing call that screwed us out of a Big 10 championship. 64 years later that hatred of those bastards has not lessened one damn bit. God, I hate losing to those pricks!!!!!!!!!!
Almost a complete roster turnover but these players are already becoming a beloved bunch of Gophers. Never will be Bobby Jackson/Jordan Murphy level for me but so easy to like. I feel just as bad for them as I do for myself when we lose like that.
“Protecting competition integrity is of the utmost importance for the NCAA,” NCAA President Charlie Baker said in a statement on Thursday.
Thank God for that. Now I feel better.
Interesting that if he had left last year I would have been "devastated" as a Gopher fan. This year? Whatever. Will always remember that interception against the Trojans, but I'm also remembering him taking the totally wrong angle or just sort of being there but not making a play.
I think he is one of the sharpest guys on the team but two of the most bone-headed plays I've ever seen a QB make this season. And he was looking so good.
