It was a fun place, I worked there back when it was called the Brickhouse, about 1979-85 or so. Bucket night was wall to wall people every Wednesday night.
I agree, a lot of optimism when the B1G season started. All those home loses including the sweep by what ended up being a bad Purdue right off the bat.
I got to listen to Walter speak one time, really enjoyed him. Many references to the Gophers and Haskins. I got to talk with him afterwards, nice guy. Too bad he missed most of his senior year with an injury.
I agree, can't seem to finish. The first 6 innings have been great. Many times, an error, walk and a timely hit have cost the Gophers a late inning loss.
Coffey finished the regular season hurt, they added him to the playoff roster just in case they advanced. Amir ended up with a solid season averaging 24 minutes and 10 pts/game.
Regionals and Supers are a blast. Went to many of them in the early 2000's here in Lincoln, even as a non husker fan, it was a special experience. Nearly 10,000 people jammed in Haymarket for several games in those days.
