This is exactly why I've never complained about the players Fleck recruited, or recruitment rankings in general. PJ brings in the kind of players we can all be proud of, and I wouldn't have it any other way...

Since this has devolved into naming famous Minnesotans... they missed Tay Zonday, whose "Chocolate Rain" was one of the first Youtube viral videos. Born in Minneapolis, he was in the University of Minnesota's American Studies Ph.D. program when he had this massive hit.

I've gotta admit, I've been paying attention to the University of St. Thomas quite a bit since they left DIII... I think MN has needed D1-AA football for many years... and when their probationary period is over, St. Thomas just might be the team we've needed. Whatever happens, it'll be interesting.

For sure... but is that due to St. Thomas, knowing that they're on probation and prohibited from post-season playoffs( for 2 more years), just keeping things on the back burner, so to speak? They don't have to make any decisions for a couple of years, at least.

Of course... It's got nothing to do with the quality of football that the Pioneer League plays, though... Rather, are the Tommies going to be willing to settle for that brand of football? Are the rest of the Pioneer schools going to put up with St. Thomas... or will they ask the Tommies to move...

Do you tell the Brady Pretzlaffs and Koi Perichs of the football world that you don't have a DC yet, but "I'm sure you're going to love playing for whomever we hire." Maybe a quick hire wouldn't have saved Pretzlaff... and maybe Koi still comes to MN... but the longer that the uncertainty...

Yep... and not long ago, they were playing DIII football. In the last couple of seasons, while on probation, they've been crushing Pioneer teams (with one loss to Drake) using essentially DIII players. How long until they're politely asked to move on from the Pioneer League? If St. Thomas jumps...

It's happening... 2 teams in SD stealing their lunch money... UND and Northern Iowa still being pests... St. Thomas moving up might really hurt NDSU if they can convince some of those MN kids that an education here is much more desirable than one from Fargo. It's going to get real interesting...

I think NDSU fans should pay attention to Nebraska... it's what they've got to look forward to. They'll hang on to past glory just like the clodhoppers to the south, and they'll also have to face the fact that their football world will never be what it once was. Those days are most likely gone...
