Official 2024 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

The number of guys who have transferred out and their destinations seem a lot less impactful so far than last year. Hopefully it stays that way.

McCarthy is about three years younger than Penix and Bo Nix, who are the two guys he will probably be closest to in draft rankings. I like Penix of that group but the case for McCarthy is that he has more upside I suppose.

Who is starting at QB in our bowl game?

Shikenjanski is a true freshman walk-on. I get that it's Bowling Green but if he plays the expectations should be incredibly low.

    Quarterbacks in the Transfer Portal

Wow, that's a surprising one. True freshman 5 star who played a lot this year, probably more than any other true freshman QB in the country.

Reminder that the Gophers had 19 transfers out last year: https://gopherhole.com/boards/threads/official-2023-roster-movement-thread-whos-in-and-whos-out.108980/ 10 at this point isn't super unusual, but we'll see how many more guys leave.

    Quarterbacks in the Transfer Portal

Bachmeier doesn't like Fleck which is why he didn't come here, he's not good enough to play in the Big 10 anyways though. He'll probably go to Stanford and be a backup to play with his brother.

CBS Sports has Tyler Nubin going 1st round, 16th overall

Most mocks have him late first or early second, this one is probably the earliest I've seen though.

STrib: Gophers QB Athan Kaliakmanis: 'I'm nowhere near where I want to be'

People always equate physical tools to how good a QB can be. They saw that AK had better tools and just assumed he'd be more effective, which he's clearly not. There's so much more to QB play.

Bucky looks great for Oregon, and how bout that Tyler Brown kid leading Clemson in receiving as a true freshman? Former Gopher commit.
