Never in a million years would I have guessed before the season started that a very good argument could be made for Kaprizov being the 4th most valuable player on the team.
Hughes - absolute approach changing player
Boldy - all-around game is impressive - very good penalty killer, great on PP...
I actually agree with this - that it does seem to be teams are more willing to risk losing possession by taking shots this season. Last night was awful though. Wild tied for league lead with 20 OT games. We are 10-0-10 in them, but man.
Wild win the OT opening draw and circle around with the puck for over two minutes, taking zero shots. Make a rule that you cannot retreat over the red line with the puck if you have entered the offensive zone with possession and never surrender possession. I am really tired of watching OT...
Hughes is elite. He gets so many shots on goal - 8 tonight. He can't seem to get one to go, but they will come, either straight up, on a tip or rebound. You can't get that many pucks on net without them going in.
Wild dominated the third period and just couldn't light the lamp. OT winner was...
They had a torn up offensive line the entire season. Run blocking requires choreography that not knowing the guy's name next to you on the O-line, inexperience at both the center position and QB and suspect ability of the QB to read a defense make it very difficult to produce a reliable running...
I would shitcan KAM. He's blown it more than enough for me. If there was any disagreement between him and KOC on anything to do with QBs, I think it should be a done deal. KAM owns the mess on the O-line. Get rid of him.
It was a weird first period. Gus was a rock in the first period, no question. But I would argue the Wild weren't "outplayed" in the first. They had multiple defensive breakdowns that led to odd-man rushes (entire structure, not strictly D-men). BUT the Wild did put on tons of sustained offensive...
Nine minutes left and the Wild in full control at Anaheim. Hughes and Kaprizov putting on a clinic out there. Yurov continues to impress with excellent two way hockey.
No - I am guessing it's on the list of possibilities - and you can be sure other teams are beating down Guerin's door with inquiries.
Gus will turn 28 in June and signed through 2030-31 at $6.7 per. Wally just turned 23 and is signed through next year at $2.2 per (!!), RFA after next season...
