Moderators of this forum, can we make this a World Cup thread? It will be over soon. Once every four years, 32 years since the last WC in the US.
The games are packed, the atmosphere is amazing. Watching big time international soccer in the summer is just chef's kiss.
Living here, it was...
Random thoughts here, but PJ had a sort of "la puta vida" luck, by having COVID/2020-2021 happen right after our most important season. No COVID, and we have much more hype heading into 2020, even after losing a lot of key pieces.
In my opinion, the biggest problem and hinderance to PJ's tenure have been out of his control: the admin's unwillingness to pay top dollar for coordinators and assistant coaches.
A lot of things on a college football team are downstream from that. Recruiting, in-game adjustments, game week...
We also need legit stars to emerge at WR, the secondary, etc. Difference makers that can change games in a single play. Lindsey doesn't reach his potential unless one of those guys in the WR room steps up.
Husky stadium is the coolest in FBS, especially now with the renovations. I love their enormous double decker bleachers on the home side. When they play at dusk with their classic purple + gold it's gorgeous to watch
