I don't see how an agreement between competitors to limit how much money their employees can get paid or make from sponsors would go over well with courts. If the NIL numbers we've seen around are anywhere close to true, I can't see a competitive floor working for public schools. I'm sure a lot...
Looking at the selection criteria they say they look to pick the best 4 teams, not the 4 teams most likely to win on a particular date. Florida State's injured QBs are part of the team. It doesn't say anything about excluding players with injuries.
Even if this helps ratings in the short-term...
10 minutes into the game and already playing to not get embarrassed instead of to win. I wonder why we're struggling with NIL. What company wouldn't want to sponsor that?
College football is a business. The Alabamas, Georgias, and Ohio States pull in much more money than the Minnesotas. If there was enough talent to go around it would make sense to balance things out but there's not anywhere close to enough talent to fill even the power 5 teams with solid...
I'd imagine most coaches would respond similarly if a player skipped practices and meetings due to an injury without staying in contact with coaches and medical staff. The way some people have reported it makes Kiffin look bad but this seems like a reasonable response.
Every other team has the same rule. It's been around for two and a half years, more than long enough to take advantage of it. Some teams are using it to add star players, we used it to add a RB who can't hold onto the ball and a WR who keeps dropping the ball.
Isn't punishing the accused without due process the standard in academia? Michigan themselves punished a student for much worse than what Harbaugh did while ignoring huge pieces of evidence and would have ruined his life if he didn't sue them and get them to drop their findings.
Completely agree. Fleck is making 30% more this year than 2020, not counting his pay reduction due to the pandemic. Is he doing is job 30% better? By pretty much every metric 2019 was better than 2022, and 2023 doesn't look any better. Obviously the record was much better in 2019. Attendance was...
Odds are one of Wisconsin, Iowa, and Nebraska will go 3-1 in the remaining games so it's probably going to take 3-1 with a loss to Ohio State to win it. Excluding OSU the remaining 3 games are somewhere around tossups so roughly a 1 in 8 chance. Not great but with how tough our schedule is this...
