    Nolen Anderson commits to Gophers!!!

Saw him play last night on Senior night at Wayzata, and at Hopkins a few days back. He was dominant in both games (as was Christian Wiggins). Last night he had dunks on 3 successive plays, running the floor on fast breaks on a couple of them. He can hit the 3 from anywhere, but also can score...

Izzo let’s his team play dirty

I watched the 2nd half and the OT of the NSU / IL game last night. Fears was incredible. Just shows what an amazing defensive job Reynolds did on him, and, really, that the entire Gopher team did in winning that game. Illinois is a very, very good basketball team.

Izzo let’s his team play dirty

John Thomas? Brian Cardinal? Only half this board is old enough to remember those names (of course, I am in that elderly half). 🙂

"KenPom is bull***t" Sit back an enjoy this four minute dialogue from Doug Gottlieb on the KenPom rankings. (mentions St. Thomas, Minnesota)

I tend to agree, but…. the KenPom rankings do have some validity. If, however, you rely on them too much when making your March Madness brackets, you will make your friends and co-workers happy.

    Injury Updates?

Of course the previous coach was blamed for everything including not getting sufficient talent from the portal when he had zero revenue sharing $$ and limited NIL.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA VS STANFORD THANKSGIVING TOURNAMENT IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Very winnable game. Got beat by a freshman who probably would not start for any B1G team … except the Gophers. Picking this team to finish last or 15fh in the B1G is looking correct.

***OFFICIAL CHICAGO ST AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Have to, unfortunately, agree. Unless they’re shooting markedly (magically?) improves, they are going to lose a lot of games. Last two games have been brutal to watch.

***OFFICIAL UW-GREEN BAY AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I am an alum and long time season ticket holder. Towards the end of the game, there was a part of me that wanted to pull for GB (even though, in principle, I hate all Wisconsin teams). They were clearly the underdogs and played one helluva game. Let’s not forget that just three nights...

Try telling Izzo that. Gotta strike a balance with this. Too many cupcakes not only rips off the season ticket holders, but does not prepare the exam. This is a long term Gopher problem — I know, I’ve had tickets since Musselman was coach.

Hope you are right. If they should happen to sweep those games, then we do have a team!

***OFFICIAL GARDNER WEBB AT MINNESOTA - THE OFFICIAL START OF THE NIKO MEDVED ERA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I was at the game. Love the ball movement, love the hustle on defense. Crocker-Johnson is an excellent rebounder and defender. Tyson is a scorer and will score in the B1G, IMO. However, this weak nonconf schedule is going to hurt them. The B1G is an entirely different level of play than their...

Shama: Medved: Tyson ‘Poised to Have Great Year for Us’

Tyson is likely to be the star of this team. He is definitely fun to watch. But, as we all know, we will lose a lot of games if the offense relies too much on one guy. Early games will show who else can consistently step up and score. If 2 or 3 others don’t emerge as scorers, preseason...

    Observations From NDSU Scrimmage

So fun to see a scorer like that hit his shots. There were many things to like about this game, but the thing I liked the most was the ball movement — no endless dribbling on the perimeter and then a last second prayer. Our guard play promises to be superior to last year. Inside? We’ll be...
