I will be curious to see if he sticks around/Niko wants him. I was hoping that dunk against Oregon was the start of some confidence but it hasn't translated.
Kyan Evans played in 36 games his freshman year, averaging 8 minutes, 41% FG, 32% 3PT, 68% FT, and 1.7 points. Was actually receiving...
Preseason poll had us at 16th and we are currently 12th. Nebraska was picked 14th, and are 5th.
It might be more impressive that we have done that while losing 4 of our top 8 players, but it's not enough for him to win coach of the year.
Liam Robbins also took a prep year at Sunrise Christian so was comparable to a redshirt Junior by the time he was here.
I would take Robbins over Grove in a heartbeat but I am curious to see what Grove can grow into. I like his touch on his passes and his ability to run the floor.
I really liked that pass he made to Durkin on a cut yesterday too.
Would love to see him keep working on the shooting so he is a threat to regularly knock down a 3 when his man gives him 10 feet of space.
I will be curious to see how he progresses. And if Vaihola is back next year how Niko...
Kyan Evans just got benched by Hubert Davis. He came off the bench to play 10 minutes, shot 0-2 with a foul, 2 turnovers and 1 assist in their last game, a loss to Cal (after losing to Stanford and Southern Methodist in the last couple weeks).
Let's go ahead and sign him mid-season. My Cade...
Not a gotcha, but I'm glad to see you were wrong about Niko. I just looked up that thread because I remembered someone pushing back on the idea of hiring him haha.
I think we got a good one.
That is my thought as well. Might as well get some hard worker/team oriented/defensive guys to help the team gel and run good practices, or a local developmental project like Lorenson who won't be a locker room cancer when he doesn't play a minute all year.
JCJ was 4th on the team last year with 21.5 minutes…I am expecting him to be in a similar range this year.
I think Durkin and Willis will lead the team in minutes with Asuma right there too. Reynolds/Omot/Tyson as significant role players who could see serious minutes in the event of foul...
Hubert Davis took a roster with seven 5 star players and two 4 star players, mixed them with 3 highly regarded transfers (two 4 stars and one 3 star) and barely made the NCAA tournament's first 4 games.
This is the equivalent of getting to pick your dodgeball squad from the entire school's...
I like Niko's chances at rehabilitating him.
He can point to his track record with Nique Clifford. After shooting 40% from 3PT (51.9% eFG) his first season of starting at Colorado, Clifford dropped to 28.8% 3PT (42.3% efG) his second season of starting. He transferred to CSU and improved to...
