I think PJ is a great head coach when it comes to recruiting, developing, etc., but his in game decisions and inability to level up as a play caller and with in game decisions is what keeps us from ascending. We got out-coached against Purdue and MSU but luckily have better players who were able...
Yeah he didn't play because he never won the job. It may have been more fun but he never did anything to prove that he was better than Leidner while he was here. There's a reason he transferred to an FCS school and not an FBS school.
Sure Streveler got an NFL paycheck after playing well in the...
Not sure what you're alluding to here, but I am simply saying both tore it up as duel-threat QB's at the FCS level and have shown that it doesn't necessarily translate to the FBS level. Streveler couldn't start over Leidner at MN and Gronowski has struggled after making the jump up.
1000000000%. This is what it takes the Gophers to the next level. Fleck has never grown in this area and has always been our downfall. You Gotta play to win the game from the jump and not just hope the other team messes up more than you do.
When you play big games, you go for it on 4th and 1...
This is the lamest take ever. They went after him because they think he'll be able to contribute.
Nick Kallerup only had an offer from 1 FCS school (USD) before walking on and is now collecting an NFL paycheck.
10 years later we have come full circle to the time that Mitch Leidner was pegged as a 1st rounder by Todd McShay! I do think that Drake actually has shown the tools to be an NFL QB and hopefully he continues to develop here at the U!
Was this the 58-0 game in 2011? I too was there and even before the game was out of hand the volume/atmosphere did not match the 100K+ fans in attendance.
Most data shows an average success rate for QB sneaks to be 80-88%, which is curious because i feel like most teams run it less and less. Give me a QB sneak any day over a shotgun formation run play!
