    2021-2022 season.

I'm hoping for better effort on defense. I thought there were players who worked much harder on offense than defense. Better ball movement from the guards would help too.

    Recruiting

It will be really interesting to see how Lindsey handles a roster of this size. Everyone wants to play, and there is only so much playing time. If she manages to keep everyone happy, I'll be impressed.

Man, I'm so tired of Geno and Connecticut. Even when they lose, they get all the quotes (StarTribune). Time to turn the Paige.

    Transfer Portal

Unless you are able to add a star, I don't see the point of adding anyone. If everyone returns from the current roster, as has been reported, there is no need to add "depth". With a roster of 15, there's not going to be enough playing time as it is.

    PP: Everyone Returning for Gophers

If everyone does indeed come back, they'll have 15 players on their roster. As Whalenfan indicates, any transfers better be good (or better than good). They don't need any more depth. It will be interesting to see if Lindsey can keep everybody happy, as probably 4-5 players will hardly ever...

Ray Stevens was never a star and more of a career backup. However, in 1968, he stepped out of a career back-up role to QB the Gophers well in a 6-4 season that began with losses to top-ranked USC and Nebraska. I know I'm revealing my advanced age, but I remember being at that Nebraska game.

While Winfield was drafted by the Vikings, I don't believe he ever played football for the Gophers.

And here's one more: Walt Bowser played 3 sports (football, basketball, tennis) during his time at the U (1967 - 71). After law school, he later served as a Ramsey County (Minn.) District Court Judge.

Noel Jenke played 3 sports (football, hockey, baseball) for the Gophers back in the late 60's. But that was a long time ago. Wouldn't work or be allowed today.

When can we start expecting better recruits?

Successful recruiting is based on relationships and trust. Most of these top players have 2-3-4 year relationships with the coaches who are recruiting them. Whalen did not make significant inroads on the local talent until this year. Like it or not. it takes time. I hope I'm wrong, but I...

And don't forget, Norwood was the AD at the time. He had hired Stollings and was an abuser himself. Not exactly someone you would take your complaints to.

No surprise here. I cancelled my season tickets prior to her last year, as it was evident she was in over her head. I renewed them shortly after she left.

Carter Coughlin was among the protesters on the highway at the time of the semi-truck incident

A fine, upstanding young man, and an example for us all. I'm proud of him.
