I thought it was better than 51.5%

This should stir the pot a bit.

I don't care if his completion percentage is 40% if he protects the ball and doesn't take sacks and wins the game

We haven't won a game yet where his completion percentage has been 40%.

This and turnovers are really the only stat I care about when it comes to gopher quarterbacks. I don't care how many yards you put up. I don't care how many touchdowns you throw, but if you aren't completing 60% of your passes, you aren't cutting it in a Power 5 conference. If you're below 60%, then you better have a set of wheels on you.

I agree that he could get better. But I will take 7-3. He has improved alot from last year and he needs to keep improving. He needs to be more consistent. It takes these guys that aren't 5 stars time to develop. He is better at not fumbling and turning the ball over. He needs to understand that we are a ball control team and if we have to punt it's ok. Our punter is ok. Win the field position and turnovers and you have a great shot to win a ball game. People need to understand that we aren't Oregon / Baylor and we aren't gonna put up 50 points every week. And I'm ok with that, actually I like our work man like mentality! GO GOPHERS!!!!!!

He runs the ball well tomorrow, doesn't turn it over and we win the game and who cares what his completion percentage is. Go Gophers beat Nebraska.

Like Ak, Mitch needs time to develop. But I can't understand why - in the fourth year - they don't have a decent JC QB to help out.

Extend a hand out to Braxton Miller to transfer. Can you imagine our offense then?!

I'm just curious. Can you be ok with a 7-3 record AND be critical of our current state at the QB position?

For specifically stating the only "stat" you care about is completion percentage and turnovers -- not wins -- you are...(fill in the blank)

Twist whatever I said into whatever you want. You're good at that.

I thought wins were associated with a team. Not one player. This isn't baseball.

I didn't think I was the only one hoping for a top 60 FBS quarterback. Excuse me.

Well...maybe it's because you clearly stated that the only stat(s) you care about are completion percentage and turnovers, as those pertain to Gopher QBs.

So what are you trying to dodge?

Like I said. This isn't baseball. Wins are not an individual stat. If you're actually trying to pick an argument about it, you need something else to do.

You've figured out this isn't baseball. There is hope.

Well we still have you thinking that it is, so don't get too hopeful just yet. There's still work to be done.

When you and your ilk stop believing stats like turnovers or completion percentage are not as important as wins, my hopes will be realized.

Well since wins are not credited to an individual in the box score unless you're an MLB pitcher or an NHL goalie, nobody said that completion percentage and picks were more important. You're trying to compare Apples to Oranges.

It's late. I'll forgive your inability to comprehend.

Sorry, but you already said what's important and it's not wins. Time of day has no effect on your perspective.

Okay bud. However you want to interpret it. Keep ignoring the key word. If you pretend it's not there, it'll just disappear, right?

yep, mitcheroo ain't great throwin the ball

but he runs the show for an offense that is not simply- left, right, middle. he's proved most of us wrong when we said he couldn't lead.

You've never played football. You will never understand. Look up the box score from the Nebraska-Wisconsin game last week. QB stats for Wisc. were not impressive. Some of the 'huskers will have nightmares the rest of their lives.

I've never once claimed that wins are less important than stats. Wins trump stats, but wins are not an official individual stat in football. Stop trying to tell me they are. You have taken what I said and started a totally unrelated argument. Let me know when Mitch's name has a W next to it in the box score tomorrow. I'll hopefully find it in the team schedule.

I'll consider this over unless you choose to read the words in front of you and quit implying things that are untrue. Good night.
