Guess he didn't like Dawkins bringing in Travis and Humphries
He was at SAMford not STANford. I'm guessing you probably just read it too fast.

Former Cooper HS PF Godfrey is on the move...again:
Calvin Godfrey to transfer from Southern, eligible immediately
There’s a new transfer on the market, as Southern’s Calvin Godfrey has left the program, sources confirmed to NBCSports. According to ESPN.com, Godfrey has received his release. He will be able to play immediately pending a graduate transfer waiver from the NCAA.
Godfrey is a talent, a 6-foot-8, 230 pound forward that averaged 13.1 points and 8.8 boards as a junior with the Jaguars, including an 18-point, 9-rebound performance at Florida last season. That came three years after his last season at the Division I level, when he averaged 5.7 points and 5.4 boards for Iowa State back in 2010-2011.

Go Gophers!!
From the story "He has one year remaining and has to use it in 2014-2015 and will be looking to spend it playing at a higher level."
So are the Gophers interested? Does he want to play for us and walk on?

Saw on Twitter from Doogie that when he asked a team source if we were interested he/she said "not really".
Godfrey to Memphis.
Per MSU press release.
Should help make up for some of the shooting lost with Kenny Kaminski's dismissal.

They still lack frontcourt depth though, and they will have to play small alot of the time.
Trice/Tum Tum
Forbes/Ellis
Valentine/Bess
Dawson/Clark
Costello/Schilling
Dawson will probably play the four now that Kaminski is gone and Forbes is eligible. They have some talent and probably the best coach in the B1G, but losing Appling, Harris, and Payne will hurt.

On the surface of it, this seems like another crock, an abuse of the NCAA waiver process. The guy plays a couple years for low D1 Cleveland State, MSU misses on a few recruits and finds itself thin at guard so they get this guy to transfer up, and lo and behold he as an "ill relative" in the Lansing area.
