Weber looked pretty poor last week against a pretty vanilla front. Adding any level of further complexity is an issue.
Then add the fact that this is no longer the o-line's first time playing together.... and the fact that a home crowd will be much less noisy and hostile....
This is why its great that we play progressively more difficult teams before the big ten schedule.... so that we can experience increasingly more challenging scenarios
before it really, really starts to matter.
Im not saying you are saying anything otherwise, but it is perfect for this football team to face these challenges at this point in the season. If we can slowly build ourselves to the point where we can play with Cal at home by week three... we should be able (in theory) to put away NW on the road and wisky at home.
Speaking of that, now that the stadium is not an issue, the top priority in terms of recruiting is
beating our rivals!!! That's right, it's time to focus
even more on those two games a year, you know which ones i speak of. Then priority #2 is being competitive each year in the
other two trophy games.... trophy games are an exciting thing to mention to a potential recruit, but not if that hardware is constantly in other school's athletic offices.
