I wonder is Shaka is wearing the Groucho Marx around town as he scopes it out like Teague did prior to his hire?
 

You know, at this point the main reason I want Shaka to come here is so I can read all of the responses on the VCU board right as the hire becomes more of a reality.

An old friend of mine used to say, "if you want to run with the big dogs, you'd better be ready to piss in the tall grass". So far, I like what I'm hearing plus the fact that Teague is not willing to reward mediocre performances.

I want those numbers to be correct just so I can read the letter to editor from that crazy old guy that wants the Gophers to drop out of the Big Ten.

The U of MN isn't considered a state agency (although they do get a fair amount of funding from the state) and coaching contracts have a LOT of leeway for all kinds of things. Although I doubt facility improvements that both Teague and any potential coach want are really necessary to put on there. Maybe you could say there is a kicker that if the facility isn't built by so and so a date, then he gets an extra million per year. But I doubt you'll ever see that...

Marcus says his gut says Shaka is next coach and the ultimate Minnesota hater, Myron, even had a Shaka/MN tweet.
 

No doubt Shaka and NT talked. Maybe in MPLS. That's the thing about this series of rumors...we can be 99% sure they are at least kinda happening. The question is if he decides to take the gig.

The only reason for Shaka to come to Minneapolis is to see the facilities and he and his wife to see the city. He doesn't need to interview Teague and vice versa.

Either that or maybe he likes not having to pay taxes on clothing and wanted a quick in and out MOA shopping trip.

Glad I didn't see this thread before I went to bed....would have never slept. A ray of hope indeed!
 


Remember when there was a time that Gopher nation was concerned about Tubby being lured away? Interesting juxtapositions that the passage of time and unrealized potential creates. Buckle your seat belts - the 24 to 48 hours should be very decisive.
 

Would it be hilarious if Teague announced a 2 pm press conference only to announce that the rhythmic dance instructor had been extended?

No one knows when that picture was taken. Very likely it was today and is accurate, but impossible to prove.

However, doesn't he look sad in that picture? Like he has to break some bad news to his team today? I sure think so!

He said it would be the Florida Gulf Coast upset of coaching hires. Sounds like he heard something that said it isn't completely out of the realm of possibility, especially since yesterday he was mocking Gopher fans for even having hope that Shaka could come here.
